Democrats Back Down on Assault Weapons Ban!

good you keep sucking Rush's fat nuts,
and I'll keep cheerleading Obama and real Americans pulling for our country.
Just watch the intimidation shit, the liberal won't be the one backing down.

So you think if you oppose the president, you are not a real American who is pulling for his country?
I don't hope America fails, I hope Obama's socialist policies fail and they will, but not before they've driven up the debt massively and spurned inflation as you rightly pointed out by devaluing the dollar.

so Damo your a ditto head,
I was mocking their use of unamerican card,
shouldn't have been over your head.

I am very glad that the assault weapons ban seems dead.

I am looking at putting together a hunting combo that will make the anti-gun folks have fits.

I want an AR-15 platform with a 20" or 22" target bbl. I am going to add a night vision scope (probably Gen I because of the costs). And I want to check on a suppressor/silencer for the rig too.

If I can set up this rig I will start thinning the coyote population in a big way.

Its not always about the "macho factor". Sometimes its about the right tool for the job.

Lmao

Some folks need a gun to make themselves feel manly. But I don't think that is the majority of gun owners.

Most of the ones that I have met just genuinely enjoy shooting, hunting, the history and the art of the gunsmith.

LOL, I agree too.

But being a turbo-lib super immature ranter I have to razz the gun owners. My wife owns one, when we were dating my head hit it under my pillow one night and it scared the shit out of me.

But thats probably the best way to have found it. It could have been a lot worse. lol

Some day I need to get you out at a shooting range with a brick of .22LR ammo and show you how much fun it is.

You'd be addicted in no time.

I don't hunt anymore. I target shoot from time to time just to stay accurate. I value guns because I once took an oath to support and defend the US Constitution and I take it very seriously.

And well you should. I am not taking anything away from anyone who has guns for any reason.

I am a bona fide gun fanatic.

I prob should just to get over the fear. I'm sure the wife can handle it. I've never shot one.

A healthy respect is a good thing. But fear is unnecessary.

Find someone with a .22 and go have some fun. Learn the safety rules and wear hearing protection. But you can have a blast.

Americans would not be free, and the USA would not be independent without guns. You liberals are fucking Nazis.

We also wouldn't be free without artillery, mortars, grenades, etc. Can I have some please? The fourth of July is right around the corner and I don't have anything capable of disabling an armored car.

I do actually like how Obama is setting his priorities. He realizes it's an unpopular issue and hasn't touched it so far, I really doubt we'll see any renewal of the assault weapons within the next four years.

As with most gun control issues, it's not actually that unpopular at all:

http://www.saysuncle.com/archives/2004/04/26/poll-majority-support-assault-weapons-ban/

That's 71% who support it.

The people opposed to the ban are just EXTREMELY loud about it, making it appear more unpopular than it actually is. And a lot of supporters would stop supporting simply because of this ban, while very few people would stop supporting because someone oppose the ban. So in a way it makes political sense.

You may think you are being facetious, but that is EXACTLY the original intent of the 2nd Amendment: that the people will always have the ability to fight against a corrupt government. The people who first proposed that the 2nd Amendment was not meant to include any weapon available to the common infantry soldier were and are wrong.

The second is NOT about hunting and sprting events, it is not limited to self defense issues. It is about "the security of a FREE state" which they claimed (rightly so) to be the responsibility of the people themselves. The founders knew, and stated quite clearly, that liberty was ours to keep - or to give away in the name of "security". They didn't hold those willing to trade freedom for security in high regard. Neither do I.

Ah, here comes stupid.

Why don't I post a poll right now GL? OK, who here believes that if the 2nd amendment is ever interpreted to mean that individuals can own they're own nukes, that we should immediately amend it?

Everyone but GL?

Aw, that's too bad. :(

You are a fanatic, GL, and you are too blinded by ideology to use critical thinking to address why letting everyone own nuclear weapons (or F-22's, or rocket launchers) would be a bad idea. I assure you, they wouldn't ONLY be used against the government. You want to take down a corrupt government? It's called an election. If someone tries to usurp power, they will have no political support, and will be removed from power If something doesn't have enough popular support to win an election, it's unlikely it's going to win a revolution.

You are talking about weapons that can destroy everyone on Earth in an instant GL. I've said the trade freedom for security line before, but there is something as taking something too far. An idiom that works well within reasonable boundaries doesn't work so well when someone blinded by ideology takes it to an extreme.

I'd say after you do at least 4 years in a branch of the military where you can train with them, why not?
