Don't know why you get so bent \(\(/)/ 12,000 murders and a few thousand kids killed in accidents is all that happens annually. We are not as smart as Europe and you can't expect redneck gun lovers to take on that challange, when they are soo proud of finishing High School.

Who's 'bent'?

I am raising awareness of the many achievements of the American gunlover.

your degree didn't do you any favors with regards to history, did it?

You clearly no little of Joe Kennedy. He made his money as a bootlegger during prohibition.... THAT was ILLEGAL. He then invested in the market and manipulated the crap out of it from what is now known as insider information. It was his skill at manipulating the markets that made FDR put him in charge of the SEC when it was formed. FDR wanted him to make sure no one else could do to the financial system what he and other powerful families had done. Which is why insider trading became illegal, as did naked shorting of stocks (though this practice is still done by large investment firms with little to no penalty from the SEC).

I clearly know a lot about Kennedy. You spew right wing slander.

So old man Kennedy was not guilty of inside trading. Thanks for verifying that. He was a smart man. He made wise investments in real estate and movie studios and other business ventures.

A recurrent urban legend about Kennedy is that he made money in bootlegging, the illegal importation and distribution of alcohol during Prohibition. Although there is no hard evidence of this, Kennedy did have extensive investments in the legal importation of spirits. The "bootlegging" rumor itself may be traceable to Canadian distiller Samuel Bronfman and to New England bootlegger Danny Walsh and his crime syndicate, which did in fact smuggle spirits across the Canadian-American border during this period. Post-Prohibition, Bronfman had a bitter rivalry with Kennedy in acquiring North American liquor distribution rights.[12] At the start of the Franklin Roosevelt administration, Kennedy and James Roosevelt founded Somerset Importers, an entity that acted as the exclusive American agent for Gordon's Dry Gin and Dewar's Scotch. They had assembled a large inventory of stock, which they allegedly sold for a profit of millions of dollars when Prohibition was repealed. Kennedy invested this money in residential and commercial real estate in New York, Le Pavillon restaurant, and Hialeah Park Race Track in Hialeah, Florida. His most important purchase was the largest office building in the country, Chicago's Merchandise Mart, which gave his family an important base in that city and an alliance with the Irish-American political leadership there.

He was absolutely guilty of trading on insider information, just because it wasn't illegal doesn't mean it wasn't unethical. It also highlights the pain and damage he and those like him did to others. Despite your 'them Kennedy's have done so much good' line.

He was a very smart man. No question. He was also highly unethical. Which again was why FDR appointed him to the SEC. He knew all the dirty tricks.

Yes, Kennedy and FDR's son were granted the right to bring it in 'legally' during prohibition as 'medicinal alcohol'. Funny how that works when you partner with a President's son. YOUR liquor suddenly becomes 'legal'. Bottom line, he was a bootlegger with a pre-pardon from the President. Regardless, Joe Kennedy was one of the most unethical pieces of shit this country has ever seen. Under his leadership, his family caused more harm to this country than his son's could ever hope to over come. Despite the good that JFK and Bobby did, it does not make up for the harm their father caused.

You're such a douche.

Translation: Dolt's fear is below the gun-purchase threshold...for now.

How do you believe Americans should defend themselves against criminals?

letting them out of prison early? being in tune with their feelings of loneliness and despair? realizing that they only want a fair shot at a wealthy life?

start by dissarming the criminal

How would you accomplish that? A criminal by definition is one who breaks laws, including gun laws. But even IF it were possible to disarm criminals, our 2nd amendment rights wouldn't by any less necessary. We'd still need to defend our homes from criminals (brandishing knives, etc.) and a gun is the safest, most effective way to do that.

I don't know, how about some sanity. Like not locking up non violent drug affenders while releasing child molesters and murderers becuase of over crowding.

How bout an extra 10 years for gun crimes, just saying

But you don't have one, do you?

make a felon lose the right to protect his home with a weapon.
Much smarter and safer countries do it every day, not that any of you riechwingers know shit about other countries. Fucking Bubba's

I know Switzerland has more guns per capita than we do, and a lower crime rate than France or the UK. Apparently the fucking cajun bubbas can understand that gun count isn't the point.

And felons have already lost their right to own guns. Funny how that doesn't stop them from being armed, huh?

good you paid your NRA dues Bama bubba, now go kill a tree

England and France have 4x less murders.
Bama is happy with 12,000 murders and thousands of kids killed by accident annually
I'm not.

Nice facts. Except they ignore the other facts that were stated. Switzerland has fewer violent crimes and fewer murders than either England or France, and yet they have more guns than the USA. And your answer is to attempt insults and try to say gun owners are happy about murders.

If you are an example of the educations given by LSU and Loyola, they just slipped a notch in my eyes.
