Cain - Gingrich

It was Cain who gained the most – up into third place with a 7.7 point gain – and Gingrich, up 3.7 points to fourth place who were the big winners, said Silver.

I would think a Cain/Gingrich ticket would be formidable. Newt would be the perfect VP to work with Congress in getting things done.

Both are from Georgia. Both come from humble beginnings. Both are intelligent and hard working.

Though, I will vote for Anyone But Obama 2012

Cain has no experience with forign affairs. He would be a very tough sell for president and Gingrich is universally disliked by all but the radical right.

Obama had zero foreign experience- That never stopped your vote for him, you lemming.

Newt is not universally disliked- a total liberal talking point.

The economy is first on everyone's agenda- Cain is a great fit on that score.

But after learning that if Cain and Gingrich were on the same ticket, they would have to give Obama half of Georgia's electoral votes, I realized it would be politically stupid for them to share a ticket.

I disagree, a united states senator has, by definition, some forign policy experience.

By definition? I don't see what you are getting at. I think that leading a business venture that crosses foreign boundaries has at least as much "foreign policy" experience as any Senator, and some of it would be more salient as they must follow the regulations of those nations in their business ventures and negotiate the political business terrain.

Good point, I never thought of that.

The president Had more than "zero" fp experience, he served on the forign service committee.

Talk about your spin cycles! Obama had ZERO foreign policy experience! Being a US senator is not a definition in any way, shape, or form, equal to a meaning that implies "foreign policy experience".

I stand corrected he briefly served on the Foreign Relations committee overseeing foreign aid and sales of arms to allies. Not Foreign Service- WOW!

Title: Obama's Foreign-Policy Problem (Time Magazine)

Foreign policy experience — or rather his lack of it — has been one of the chief arguments used against Barack Obama in his run for the Democratic Presidential nomination. In endorsing his rival Hillary Clinton this week, the Des Moines Register called Obama "inspirational," but worried that "with his relative inexperience, it's hard to feel as confident he could accomplish the daunting agenda that lies ahead." Clinton herself has criticized Obama sharply for his suggestion that the four years he spent living in Indonesia as a child helped him develop a world view and gives him credence on the world stage. "Voters will judge whether living in a foreign country at the age of 10 prepares one to face the big, complex international challenges the next President will face," Clinton, the former First Lady who has spent seven years on the Senate Armed Services Committee, told supporters Nov. 20 in Shenandoah, Iowa. "I think we need a President with more experience than that."

But should Obama's multicultural background and his early years living abroad be dismissed so easily? To what degree should those experiences be considered in judging whether he's prepared to deal with the complexities of the world today?

Some would argue that his childhood experiences, as well as his mixed heritage (his father was Kenyan, his mother from Kansas), gives him a better inner compass on foreign policy than most Americans. They cite the pioneering work of Ruth Hill Useem, the late sociologist of Michigan State University, who spent her career studying what she called Third Culture Kids — the millions of U.S. children (an estimated 20 million since the advent of mass air travel) who have been carted abroad by their missionary, diplomatic, corporate or military parents. These frequent-flier kids don't spend enough time in their adopted countries to become fully bicultural, but they take pieces and add it to their home values and traditions — creating millions of "Third Cultures." Studies have shows that kids who have spent time abroad are more likely to go to college, to relate to one another despite the influences of vastly differing cultures, and to latch on to one aspect of their culture — in Obama's case African Americanism.

Obama didn't have any Foreign Policy Experience, at least according to the current Secretary of State he didn't.

Please note above where I acknowledged Cain's experience by saying, good point.

WHere does Hillary say he had no experience. I agree living abroad is not fp experience, but forign relations comitee is more than zero.

A leader usually does not have experience in every aspect of a job. That's what advisers are for. A leader sets out the direction he wants to go and things he wants to accomplish and the advisers come up with ideas.
