" dredge islands ( which expand the 200 mile limit)
should not be used /excused to artificially expand the sea boundaries " n #39
Why not?
Lookit:
I like to thrust my chest out with pride too.
But I'm a United States citizen.

If we start questioning China's methods of acquiring sovereign territory, what will we do if China starts questioning our own methods?

And if you'll pardon a point of personal preference, I generally don't like double-standards. If the international standard in maritime law for territoriality is 200 miles from shore, then that's the standard that should apply.
I realize we fudge that a little, as in the Strait of Hormuz. But I'm not sure the South China Sea meets the same exception.

In retrospect, I gather the limit the U.S. used to recognize for getting around the laws against drinking or gambling was "the 3 mile limit".
Then it went to 12 miles? And now it's 200?

Know it or not, believe it or not, like it or not, admit it or not; China is in global ascendancy.
But whereas the U.S.' ambassadors abroad wear cammo and drop bombs, China's digging safe drinking water wells, and building roads. I don't fear China. I rather more welcome China. And I gather so does everyone with an iPhone.

Name your ship, fraud.

Goon, that would ships. As in more than one. Supposedly you knew that though? Have you figured out your gender yet? Poor wannabe terrorist, but those high heels just keep calling you back. Pencil neck.
