Jesus. What fuck are they teaching kids in schools these days? Calories are calories. It's a simple chemical reaction: Intake more calories than you burn and you'll get fat. It doesn't matter if those calories are Beef Wellington, Champagne and Caviar or McDonald's $1 burgers.
What you should understand is that most cheap food is higher in calories. That's why two $1 hamburgers and $1 fries at McDonalds have more calories but cost less than the salad with grilled chicken.

A person who stands up each day is not going to get fat from eating "the best foods". Even if activity is minimal, then a person who eats fruits and vegetables, even 2,000 calories of them, is less likely to become fat than a person who eats 2,000 calories of beef and Pop Tarts. Nutritional education includes more than caloric intake.
