Ben Shapiro speaking at Cal

Agreed. That would be money better spent if they cut that additional amt. from their liberal arts programs.
By the way, who the f is this Shapiro guy? I wiki'd him and all I see is he gives speeches at colleges and there's protests, he's a Jew and target of Jew hate, and he skipped two yrs. of high school. Not much there. Maybe I'll find some quotes :dunno:

Him being a Jew has nothing to do with it .. that's a right-wing phobia, not the left.

Undoubtedly there were many Jews protesting against him .. blowing away the line that him being Jewish is the problem.

You have to look at site, read what Shapiro said and then see the spin they are attempting to put on it. Shapiro didn't say what the headline says
Took a gander at it. That's a longer read than what I'll attempt with my Sunday a.m. coffee.
Edit: I skimmed thru it and you're correct. He never said that. But I went to brainyquotes where there are dozens of his and I see why BAC hates him. He's virulently anti- socialist (and therefore racist).

Here's a given .. what I see as 'racist' you probably won't.

What you see as racist, I probably won't.
.
Youve never labeled me a racist for advocating a healthy diet but that statement certainly applies to TTQ and Micawber. For the life of me I can't make that connection to being a racist. But they somehow do.

He's a smart principled conservative who speaks at multiple college campuses and challenges students who otherwise live in a bubble. So he's a threat. People like Milo and Coulter are hateful shock jocks. Shapiro is the real deal. Hence the attempt to group him with them and label him a racist.

In what manner?
His views on race, social issues, economic views and particularly his views on Israel are well to the right of the mainstream.

Having said that I respect Shapiro. He's the closest thing the conservative movement has to an intellectual leader. Ben is very bright, witty, likeable, always well prepared and an extremely formidable debator. He is self admittedly a dishonest debator but if your goal is to win a debate then why not use all tools available to you?

In a serious level his arguments are often either not substantive when examined closely and he likes to cherry pick data when it supports his purpose and dismissive when it doesn't so there he often falls short of the smell test when it comes to selling ideas. In short he's not convincing enough to change people's views.

But that's not Shapiro's strong suite. He is excellent at teaching conservatives that their ideas do not have lose debates or or be dismissed for lacking relevance or being anachronistic.

I think liberals who oppose his views should listen to him and carefully. It would be a mistake to be dismissive of him. He is no conservative evangelical throwing red meat to the true believers like Limbaugh or Beck or a photogenic lightweight tossing out the days regurgitated Facebook talking points like Tammy Lehrer or a babbling non entity like Hannity.

LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Here you go requesting the same info as the rest of the racist on the board.

Your a fraud. a racist one at that.

actually it obvious to everyone that you haven't got a clue if he's ever said anything racist.......stop posing.......

Flight is about to take off to LA as I watch us play UT but that is a decent answer above although I'd like to hear where you think he's on the right economically (different than what mainstream conservatives believe)
