As student scores plummet, teachers unions play politics and make them worse

I was reading a teacher say that one of the worst things that has been done is that we are way past "You must get your lesson plan approved"...we are now at "This is what you will teach/promote, and this is how you will do it"....teachers are now just a cog in a shitty machine....it is a soul sucking experience now...not worthy of devoting ones life to.

So unions approve lesson plans now? :palm:

You can always read the NEA president's speeches...or listen to Randi Weingarten...or the Union websites...
They are Not there for millions of teachers....

You're not exactly all there yourself.

Not far from what's happening...that's why I always say teachers just want to teach...and can't....

Deviate just a little and the mob comes for you, "Either do as you are told or get out".....

Which is how it always goes with the WOKE...

"You will OBEY....OR ELSE!"

That's one of the reasons they're losing great teachers...and having trouble convincing anyone to teach at all...

And we are having the exact same problem with getting good people to want to be police, or soldiers, or EMT's, or doctors, or nurses and so on and so forth...we have removed what was great about doing the jobs, so people dont want to do them anymore.

It looks all the world like the Han are already in change....this is what one does if the goal is societal implosion.

Also notice how young men are completely checking out, they are doing what they like, fuck society.

Listless demoralized young men being another way to burn societies down.

Didn’t say that, not questions, but attacks, as the topic thread does, and when soaked with political overtones, threatens the very instrument of education, the teachers

Always find it humorous how there are an estimated three half million public school teachers in the US and right wingers, cause it is usually right wingers, will herald an instance or two where teachers are abusing the system, generalize it, and imply it applies to education across the country

We all know that the teachers unions are among the biggest donors and most loyal backers of the Democratic Party. As a result there will be partisans who strongly like, or dislike, them simply for that reason.

I'm not speaking about those folks. I'm speaking our education system and the attempt to bring it more into the 21st century and the road blocks to doing so. We'd have to get more into the weeds to show the ways the teachers union puts up road blocks to do so.

Don’t know the circumstances, but off hand, I’d say the criticism is unwarranted, and teacher unions are not barriers to legislative change to hold teachers more accountable

The argument is the unions fought efforts for more body cams, additional oversight of officers and making it easier to get bad officers off the street and held accountable (among other things).

The job of unions is to look out for those in the unions. Their job is not to look out for the 'greater good'.

Teachers unions look out for teachers but what may be best for teachers isn't necessarily best for kids and improving our education system. There is not an alignment of interests.

Teacher Unions dont work for teachers anymore, they work for UTOPIA.
