Are we better off with a discredited FBI?

Taking the word of Nunes Trumpsock is not a good way to discover the truth.

I'll be interested to see what Christopher Wray has to say now. I doubt if he'll be content to leave it like this.

I would rather the accusation be made and the FBI have to defend itself rather than live in a world where we keep quiet about it for fear of hurting their reputation.

There was a time when liberals wanted more transparency.

FBI statement, Jan 31:

"“With regard to the House Intelligence Committee’s memorandum, the FBI was provided a limited opportunity to review this memo the day before the committee voted to release it. As expressed during our initial review, we have grave concerns about material omissions of fact that fundamentally impact the memo’s accuracy.”

Don't tell me that Wray was in on the conspiracy. He was only appointed last August - by Trump.

you realize the memo was based on the information given to the committee by the FBI, right?....

Trump is evil for discrediting the FBI....
Is that all there is?....
Even Wray agrees that Trump shouldn't have attacked the FBI....
It was a nothing burger....

demmycrats are so conflicted.....

Trump and the Republican House are discrediting the FBI to try and save Trump from prosecution. The Repubs love the power and do not want top give it up. The plutocracy is not quite finished yet. Trump is dangerous. He has no trouble destroying the judicial if it saves his ass. America will pay for this clown presidency for a very long time.

The only institution of power that matters is our unelected "president". I'm with anyone who's on board with removing him from power.

The president is but a man. At most he will maintain power for 8 years. But the office he is in, the power that remains with it, that last much longer. Longer than that of any one man.

You mean like the corrupt parties of the FBI & DOJ have been trying to discredit Trump for the last year and half?

You watching SNL?

They just did a pretty hilarious 'Fox & Friends' related to that...

I'm on the West Coast. We still have awhile before it comes on. I've had a number of friends posting articles on Facebook regarding black history month and a couple of them had to do with the FBI spying on black musicians and other prominent black figures. The discussions they were having had nothing to do with what's happening here but anger directed at the FBI for its historical practices

How about intel agencies, and the media?

No - we're less safe, more vulnerable & diminished in ways that most of us probably can't comprehend yet.

And please don't give me the "they brought it on themselves." Every single bit of this - the Nunes memo, "fake news," conspiracies & overblown suspicion - is designed to protect one man. A guy who makes his living on a foundation of lies & exaggerations, but has somehow inspired a nearly blind loyalty out of not only supporters but many who recognized in the campaign that he IS a con man and charlatan.

Hannity is the leading voice for most of the charges against these institutions. Just take a few minutes to think about that one.

Do you have the same mindset, when it comes to the Police and Sheriff when it involves body cams, reports, etc; or do you only want "transparency" when it might protect the DNC and it's members?

No the FBI and DOJ are.

Furthermore, Deputy Director McCabe testified before the Committee in December 2017 that no surveillance warrant would have been sought from the FISC without the Steele dossier information.

AND:

1) The “dossier” compiled by Christopher Steele (Steele dossier) on behalf of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and the Hillary Clinton campaign formed an essential part of the Carter Page FISA application. Steele was a longtime FBI source who was paid over $160,000 by the DNC and Clinton campaign, via the law firm Perkins Coie and research firm Fusion GPS, to obtain derogatory information on Donald Trump’s ties to Russia.

AND:

4) According to the head of the counterintelligence division, Assistant Director Bill Priestap, corroboration of the Steele dossier was in its “infancy” at the time of the initial Page FISA application. After Steele was terminated, a source validation report conducted by an independent unit within FBI assessed Steele’s reporting as only minimally corroborated. Yet, in early January 2017, Director Comey briefed President-elect Trump on a summary of the Steele dossier, even though it was—according to his June 2017 testimony—“salacious and unverified.” While the FISA application relied on Steele’s past record of credible reporting on other unrelated matters, it ignored or concealed his anti-Trump financial and ideological motivations.

a) Neither the initial application in October 2016, nor any of the renewals, disclose or reference the role of the DNC, Clinton campaign, or any party/campaign in funding Steele’s efforts, even though the political origins of the Steele dossier were then known to senior DOJ and FBI officials.

Jigs up scumbag.

It's basically boiling down to "Why do you need a surveillance warrant" - "So we can justify our need for wanting a surveillance warrant".

I'm not.

I appreciate a forum as open as this one...as lightly moderated.

I understand some people will use the openness...and light moderation...to post garbage that insults themselves as much as their targets and the forum..but usually staff people have a bit more respect for the forum.

Obviously, Royal Highness is not such a person.

If you feel so strongly about how the MODs conduct themselves or even one MOD, then maybe you should find a forum that better suits your sensibilities. :good4u:

Ok, let’s judge Mueller’s investigation on its merits, thus far lol.

Thus far, Mueller gets a C- for scoring a couple process crime indictments THAT HAD NOTHING TO DO with his mandate.

And I’m being generous.

The delicious irony is that, thus far, all the corruption has been exposed on the fricking investigators!

Like I said in another thread, Putin has to be laughing his ass off. And not at or because of Trump.

It's amazing that how the liberals tied all their hopes on this investigation, to the point that they were praying that the info would "bring Trump down"; but now that the entire thing is nothing more then a nothing burger, they change course and are now saying that none of this meant anything.
