Are we better off with a discredited FBI?

Wow!

Alongside your avatar, it indicates you are a member of the staff of this forum.

Obviously you have no respect for the forum of which you are a staff member. I can understand that, because you have no respect for yourself.

What amazes me is that the forum is willing to tolerate you as one of its representatives.

What's even more amazing is that you are allowed to post here. You make Marx look like Ronald Reagan ya fucking leftist loon. I guess you'll never change Frank.

"Whataboutism" is overused, but the bolded is undeniably true. We've already seen it.

Trump & his admin get away w/ so much that Hillary would be vilified for. Just his relationship with Fox is something to behold.

And you're done:

3) Before and after Steele was terminated as a source, he maintained contact with DOJ via then-Associate Deputy Attorney General Bruce Ohr, a senior DOJ official who worked closely with Deputy Attorneys General Yates and later Rosenstein. Shortly after the election, the FBI began interviewing Ohr, documenting his communications with Steele. For example, in September 2016, Steele admitted to Ohr his feelings against then-candidate Trump when Steele said he “was desperate that Donald Trump not get elected and was passionate about him not, being president.” This clear evidence of Steele’s bias was recorded by Ohr at the time and subsequently in official FBI files— but not reflected in any of the Page FISA applications.

a) During this same time period, Ohr’s wife was employed by Fusion GPS to assist in the cultivation of opposition research on Trump.
Ohr later provided the FBI with all of his wife’s opposition research, paid for by the DNC and Clinton campaign via Fusion GPS. The Ohrs’ relationship with Steele and Fusion GPS was inexplicably concealed from the FISC.

Furthermore, Deputy Director McCabe testified before the Committee in December 2017 that no surveillance warrant would have been sought from the FISC without the Steele dossier information.

AND:

1) The “dossier” compiled by Christopher Steele (Steele dossier) on behalf of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and the Hillary Clinton campaign formed an essential part of the Carter Page FISA application. Steele was a longtime FBI source who was paid over $160,000 by the DNC and Clinton campaign, via the law firm Perkins Coie and research firm Fusion GPS, to obtain derogatory information on Donald Trump’s ties to Russia.

AND:

4) According to the head of the counterintelligence division, Assistant Director Bill Priestap, corroboration of the Steele dossier was in its “infancy” at the time of the initial Page FISA application. After Steele was terminated, a source validation report conducted by an independent unit within FBI assessed Steele’s reporting as only minimally corroborated. Yet, in early January 2017, Director Comey briefed President-elect Trump on a summary of the Steele dossier, even though it was—according to his June 2017 testimony—“salacious and unverified.” While the FISA application relied on Steele’s past record of credible reporting on other unrelated matters, it ignored or concealed his anti-Trump financial and ideological motivations.

a) Neither the initial application in October 2016, nor any of the renewals, disclose or reference the role of the DNC, Clinton campaign, or any party/campaign in funding Steele’s efforts, even though the political origins of the Steele dossier were then known to senior DOJ and FBI officials.

That's a wrap.

No need to tear up there Nancy. Nor is there a reason to hijack this thread with your blubbering. What do you have to say about this thread? Anything?

Nothing. Bear that in mind when you stick your fool face into other people's productive discussions. Self-obsessed wanker.

fuck off retard. This is a free speech forum, and us mods are able to conduct ourselves however we wish. We don't hold ourselves to some bullshit arbitrary moral standard.

I did not think you were the sensitive type Frank.

I'm not.

I appreciate a forum as open as this one...as lightly moderated.

I understand some people will use the openness...and light moderation...to post garbage that insults themselves as much as their targets and the forum..but usually staff people have a bit more respect for the forum.

Obviously, Royal Highness is not such a person.

You got that right, friend. This is such a cesspit of psychotics that right-wing extremists come here for sadistic ideas.

Yeah...you are really a class guy. No wonder someone of your caliber thinks highly of someone like Donald Trump.

Anyway...the abomination in the Oval Office is doing his best to discredit vital institutions necessary to the stability of the Republic. We citizens should be doing our best to hold him in check. We ought not to let him think of himself the way you apparently think of yourself...able to conduct himself however he wishes...and subject to "arbitrary moral standards."

Your coup attempt has failed you fascist little piggy.

How about intel agencies, and the media?

No - we're less safe, more vulnerable & diminished in ways that most of us probably can't comprehend yet.

And please don't give me the "they brought it on themselves." Every single bit of this - the Nunes memo, "fake news," conspiracies & overblown suspicion - is designed to protect one man. A guy who makes his living on a foundation of lies & exaggerations, but has somehow inspired a nearly blind loyalty out of not only supporters but many who recognized in the campaign that he IS a con man and charlatan.

Hannity is the leading voice for most of the charges against these institutions. Just take a few minutes to think about that one.

Which is why we want to enforce the law and clear out the bad agents and all involved. Simple.

It's so overblown. You are passionate about a general anti-liberal/anti-government stance, and it really clouds your POV on issues like this. Maybe you didn't FOLLOW Hannity, but his brand of paranoia, exaggeration & partisan bias is based on the same basic blueprint.

It's a bit hard to watch from a perspective that isn't as emotionally invested, especially since it has really established a foothold with a certain segment of the population.

I really don't know what people are so afraid of. Even if I loved Trump, I would judge the investigation on its merits, and that cannot be done until the conclusions & evidence are presented. If the latter are flimsy or poorly constructed, it will be fairly obvious.

Ok, let’s judge Mueller’s investigation on its merits, thus far lol.

Thus far, Mueller gets a C- for scoring a couple process crime indictments THAT HAD NOTHING TO DO with his mandate.

And I’m being generous.

The delicious irony is that, thus far, all the corruption has been exposed on the fricking investigators!

Like I said in another thread, Putin has to be laughing his ass off. And not at or because of Trump.

The FBI is all screwed up right now. They need to be going after politicians like Hillary Clinton who think they are above the law.

The FBI is now part of the swamp that needs to be drained.

Considering how very badly some of you want her in jail...why isn't she in there? I mean seriously, she might be able to dodge this or that scandal but how can one person dodge every scandal thrown at her for 30 years and not serve jail time? Either she is just that good or those who dearly wish to put her in prison just aren't up to snuff at their jobs of pinning anything prison worthy on her.

Those are the ones you should be pissed off. They failed you and every other Hillary hater. ha ha ;)

My only interest in this is to know how anybody can destroy subpoenaed evidence and NOT be charged. How does that work ?

Listening to the American conservatives here...and the Trump sycophants...

...should give everyone a huge laugh.

If the things being done by the narcissistic boor in the Oval Office were being done by a Democrat...

...these same people would be advocating for revolution.

It seems, though, that enough American conservatives are able to see the Trump Administration situation for the deplorable abomination it is...and I think they will join with liberals and independents to end this horror show.

Yeah, the conservative deplorables who infest the Internet forums will continue to sieg the heil...but the most part they will be tasting their own irrelevancy.

That would be my bet.

We'll see.

Have we ever had this many Republicans decide to not run for reelection...ever? Most of them are in it for life unless something like say a scandal forces them out.
