Are we better off with a discredited FBI?

Not for me to judge.

I'll go by the article I read this morning that quoted 3 surviving students who were completely disgusted w/ Trump for his tweets about the FBI which basically echo what Darth is saying.

Trump wants to make this about the FBI, and his minions are more than happy to blindly follow. I choose to listen to those who were actually there.

were those the three that turned out to be from California instead of Florida?.......that was a pretty sad day for CNN.....

All of that is basically false. If the FBI is discredited with some of the populace, it is because Trump and his minions have engaged in a relentless campaign to do just that. And that is all.

My OP suggests nothing like that. Of course an organization like the FBI is not going to be perfect. Something like 35,000 people work for the FBI - if there are individuals who act unethically or in a way that isn't proper for their position, it hardly indicates systemic corruption. I have seen nothing at all to indicate the latter - when those individuals have been identified, they have been dealt w/ properly. There is none of the conspiracy or corruption that Trump constantly suggests.

It would help matters if they didn’t act corrupt.

Why did they stonewall congress on the Dossier? What were they trying to hide from congress? Why did Comey insert himself—and by extension, the FBI, into a presidential race by stepping outside of his job description in exonerating Hillary? Comey deserved to be fired for that.

It’s being investigated now, but it at least ‘gives the appearance’ the FBI misled the FISA court and deprived a US citizen of their 4th amendment rights.

Aren’t the fundamental rights of US citizens more important than government agencies?

What would corruption look like to you?

No...you started it...and for a very good reason.

YOU can't end it. YOU won't end it.

This is fun. :D

You started it...and for NO good reason.

I can end is...and I will end it.

But it is fun getting to that point. Glad you are enjoying it as much as I.

What are you talking about? The FBI engaged, at the very least, in misleading the FISA Court (they knew the Dossier was basically bs) because they actually believed Trump was guilty. If it is found that other actors, such as the judge, the CIA, persons at Justice colluded, in order to spy on a then private citizen for political gain- then we are talking about an attempted political coup.
