Another shooting school, just another day in America

It's liberal poor parenting. When I went to school kids went to school with deer rifles and shotguns on gun fakes in their trucks in school parking lots. We never had shootings. Guns were just as common then as now. Good parenting isn't as common now as it was then.

Go get the statistics

We don’t need these losers anymore

They never do anything in the interest of America

Republicans can’t stop us anymore

The American people now know who the party really is now
evince, I think you are making the same mistake as Republicans did in 2016; believing that voters were voting more for a party than against a party.

When voters vote for the lesser evil, they are still voting for evil. Most Americans choose between one of the two major parties. If more voted for Democrats this time around, it would be a mistake to believe they weren't voting against the MAGA anti-democracy, election denier agenda.

Really? How many mental health checks have you had in the past five years? I have a physical every year but not a single mental health check. Most mentally ill telegraph their problems because they know they have a problem. They simply don't know what to do about it.

Screening can start in schools with simple 15 minute monthly computer testing along the lines of "how are you feeling today" or the “what I wish my teacher knew” program many schools already have. Obviously, HIPAA laws apply protecting students.

Online Mental Health Screening

As I said, and you just confirmed, you can not screen every American for mental illness, yet you see it as the solution to curbing gun violence? What you could achieve is recognizing some potential shooters, but only a fraction at best, and it would also open up a whole new area of civil rights, etc.

You will surely find out when the Republican Party can’t cheat in elections anymore

It's liberal poor parenting. When I went to school kids went to school with deer rifles and shotguns on gun rakes in their trucks in school parking lots. Guns were just as common then as now. And they were more immediately available to kids. We never had shootings. We used to go immediately from school to hunt a few hours before dark. Good parenting isn't as common now as it was then.

“When I went to school,” when you went to school isn’t today, there was not a proliferation of guns out there as there is now, nor availability

No one said anything about banning guns, nor confiscating guns, rather, regulating access to guns
how are you going to regulate access to illegal guns? It's not hard for anyone to buy one of those these days... I don't think anyone has a problem with regulating access to guns in general... but of course if you have regulations you have to follow them... if you've got laws you've got to enforce them..People aren't afraid to break the law anymore..often there's little or no consequences these days...

Schools can do so. Let's be honest: More kids kill themselves than kill each other yet you, evince and other Democrats want to focus on the guns, not the kids.

Fine. Your choice. I've made my pitch. What others do about it, if anything, is up to them.

Beto said he'd ban guns. Hillary said she'd ban guns albeit couched in terms of "Australian-style gun control" which means a mandatory buy-back program AKA gun confiscation.

Another kid shooting kids. What happened to education? We learned better.

He's not a kid, he's 22 years old. When I was 22 years old I was bangin' bar girls in PI. Why? Because I was an adult, that's why.

RB 60 is correct. Once upon a time, getting a hold of a gun was a breeze. It's not the gun that kills, but the person.

If I set one of my guns down on the ground, locked and loaded, it will harm no one on its own, and that is undeniable.

It would take the actions of a sick individual like the shooter in Virginia to do that...

That is CRAP I personally carried guns in my car trunk and knew several others that did the very same thing. It was common practice. You could walk in to Sears and buy a gun without even a background check, I bought a shotgun from them when I was 16. There wasn't even a federal age limit for gun purchase till 1968. I bought a German Mauser when I was 16 at the local GI Surplus for $23 no questions asked. You could order them out of magazines like Oswald did. It's two worker homes and bad parenting. There are a lot more disaffected kids out there because of bad parenting.

it seems that the young man who killed these students with a handgun was well know to the school and authorities as a problem... What a terrible tragedy...
That very possibly could have been avoided....
