Hollywood gun protocols were very highly regarded as very safe for well over 50 years, the protocol does not require each actor to check the gun for rounds, that is the job of the armorer and the AD.

At least Cage tried, which is more than I can say about most of the other people involved... But he accomplished nothing. The only thing that got Gutierrez-Reed fired was when someone actually died.

There is no formal process to become an armorer, and insurance companies trust an armorer above everyone else when it comes to safety, which makes them very difficult to fire. I think the bigger problem here was so much success made people think this was easy.

Prosecutors say they knew early in the probe that the fatal 'Rust' shooting would lead to charges



The first assistant director, David Halls, "has signed a plea agreement for the charge of negligent use of a deadly weapon," which will likely lead to six months of probation, prosecutors said. He's also agreed to testify for the state, officials said.

Baldwin was criminally responsible as both the alleged shooter and the “Rust” producer who should have had oversight on safety, officials said.


"It's a little bit of both. He's a producer. He's on that set and he's seen everything that's happening," Reeb said.

"The misfires on set, the way the gun was handed to him, he's experienced. He understands what the proper protocol is for safety and he was just disregarding that."

Nope, this is EXACTLY why the Conservos are flocking to this topic. And some of them want to throw Baldwin in, according to one poster, for "40 years without chance of parole". These people HATE Alec Baldwin. Not for being a douche but for DARING to speak out against and mock THE MIGHTY TRUMP.

And I say as an actor it was not Baldwins responsibility to check the gun, but I and I think Hollywood hold him responsible for the reckless set.

Finally, that inane, "I pulled the hammer back then I let it go and it went off" excuse was positively nonsense. A simple lie for a simple person with simple thoughts.

The first thing anybody is ever taught in firearms safety is to personally check every weapon handed to you and to always assume every weapon is loaded. Nothing he said was right, and ultimately he was the boss. He had no control over what was going on with firearms on his set. Another person that should be charged is whomever brought live rounds to a set regardless of his permissive firearms handling the union has its own safety rules that they knew they should follow.

I suspect that the DA can prove that both the Armorer and Baldwin knew that there were live rounds on set, and at best did nothing. That could very well get them convicted.
 
Remember that the AD pleaded, knows everything, and now is surely cooperating with the prosecution. Also remember that it appears that Hollywood has turned against Baldwin, I think that Halls has a free shot to take out Baldwin. As for the armorer, her short career is over, nobody will care if she hangs.
