Alec Baldwin to be charged with involuntary manslaughter in 'Rust' movie set shooting

And Baldwin hired her

That is doubtful. Armorers are hired by directors, or possibly producers, but not executive producers. If Baldwin had hired her, he would also demand credits as a director.

It is always possible that he had someone else hire her for him... But it is doubtful.

Baldwin made fun of your god, and now you want revenge. The problem is the evidence is not there.

Bar owners can be held responsible for irresponsible bartenders that keep serving drunks and they kill someone

Rust was owned by a corporation. The corporation was owned by a lot of people, including probably Baldwin. That being said, debts of the corporation are very hard to transfer to the owners, because that would pierce corporate veil. The corporation is almost always treated as a separate person.

So the owner of a corporation that owns a bar really cannot be held liable for the actions of the bar. The MANAGER of the bar can be held personally liable. In this case, the managers do not obviously include Baldwin.

Now maybe there is evidence that has not yet been released to the public. Baldwin might have been running things behind the scene. But, with what we know now, Baldwin was not the manager.

I pretty sure Baldwin and the family have already reached a settlement. The law says that people that recklessly cause the death of another shall be held accountable. The law is speaking for Halyna Hutchins.

I doubt if there is a settlement yet. A conviction raises the settlement price

Any time there is a wrongful death the family sues.
Are you saying this was not a wrongful death? If not, what the heck is for cryin' out loud.
Where's Jarod? I'll bet he'd take this case in a heartbeat.
I like to hear his opinion on this.

By definition it's involuntary homicide.

Yes, but this accomplishes nothing. It was not deliberate. And it will never bring her back. I wouldn't do it.

The state looks at it simply that someone is dead, through no fault of their own. People were involved in the death.
The handler and the actor. So they file charges because even though it's obvious an accident. Legally it's a involuntary homocide.

Lol, no, I’m saying that Baldwin isn’t responsible. Did you know her husband is taking her place directing the movie? That’s a statement that he doesn’t hold Baldwin responsible.

He pulled the trigger, that legally makes him part of a involuntary homicide!
The law isn't about right or wrong,it's about legal and illegal. And a crime happened, it was an accident, but it's legally a involuntary homicide!

Then the armorer is liable, not Baldwin. He is an actor, not a props checker.

I'm not crazy about Baldwin's political views but I don't think he should be charged and do time for something he isn't responsible for.

That's for the court to decide, a crime happened.

Baldwin hired her. This was her first job as an armorer. It is Baldwin's fault that he hired an unqualified armorer.

If you hired a 16 year old to drive a cement truck and he killed people would you be blameless?

First and foremost it was the armorer job to make sure the guns were safe.

Halyna Hutchins was 42.

She could reasonably be expected to live nearly 40 more years.

If I were the judge and he is found guilty and 40 years were available for sentencing, I would give him 40 years, no chance for parole.

It was an accident asshole breath.
