A great first step to ending Abortion!

Ask Earl about the death penalty. I rarely find these types creating an outcry over that. Many will say loud, and proud, their support of it.

You're not seriously trying to compare war and the death penalty to abortion are you? That is the most asinine thing I have ever heard.

I like him... (I'm less than pleased with politics here in town... but that's for another thread...)...I want there to be lots and lots of discussion about this issue....But I understand that many feel as you do...However....it's got to happen....
(We're much better than Mississippi, imho:)

Meh I've followed Dewine's career ever since he started back in the 80's. He's always been a party guy. Is a pleasant enough fellow but has always been a lap dog of the party patronage machine.

I personally think he's just committed political suicide by signing this bill into law. He's also tarnished his reputation as a center right conservative to a right wing extremist. Something he has never been...until now.

Hate to tell you but all wars are immoral based on it's definition.
No Grumpy there is not. A Clear and Present Danger has almost always been the gold standard of public policy for when America goes to War and it does pass the ethical and moral smell test. Nations have a moral and ethical right to defend themselves and their citizens from foreign military threats but only when those threats are a "clear and present danger".

Iraq was in no way, shape or form a clear and present danger and thus the decision to invade that nation and supporting that decision was both unethical and immoral. There's no grey area here. It was a wrong decision and we own it. Just like Colin Powell said.

the war in iraq should have been good on paper. Get in, kill everyone who needs killing, get out. Thats what was sold to the US public. In fact if your honest with yourself you will admit the intiial invasion phase went superbly. More like a video game tbh. The nation building part is what killed us. Should have left asap.

Iraq was not nor ever was a clear and present danger so no. That's simply wrong. It was a wrong decision based on misleading the American public about a non-existent threat and that was immoral as hell regardless of any tactics that could have been used.

You moron. It’s Mike Dewine. This comes as a surprise to no one. Mike Dewine is a complete mediocrity glued to the patronage system and completely incapable of independent action. It’s why Ohio booted him as a Senator. He only does what the political bosses tell him to do.

So here’s what’s going to happen and Dewine will discover why Kasich vetoed this moronic bill.

As intended this Law, after a shit load of tax payers money has been spent, will be ruled Unconstitutional. The resulting backlash will be Dewine will become a one term governor and the Catholic/Protestant divide in Ohio will be aggravated by going to this extreme with Catholics favorite pet cause, not to mention the utterly unqualified stupid fucks playing doctor here will end up killing women as this law has no life, health, rape or incest exceptions.

It’s bad politics, it’s extraordinarily stupid public health policy and it’s unnecessarily divisive, it’s a waste of tax payers money and it will simultaneously kill women while denying them their constitutionally protected right to privacy.

The good news is that it means we’ll finally see the end of a serial office seeker and complete mediocrity Mike Dewine.

In less than 4 years it will be buhbye Mike.
Keep up the great work, Planned Parenthood!!

It’s about opressing women, And trying to punish them for having premarital sex.

Its patently obvious its not about the "sanctity of life".

I maintain that what you have always had is a bunch of bible thumpers, INCEL losers, and beer-gutted MAGA dunces pissed off and upset that their neighbor's daughter might be having pre-marital sex.

I wonder if the whole point isn't to get a case before the Supreme Court. They KNOW this won't pass muster in the courts between local level and the SCt.
To be clear. It was the only reason. The supporters of the heart beat bill in this State have made that perfectly clear.

I can tell you this too...no Protestant Republican in Ohio would have signed this bill.

OK...I respect your opinion.... (Presbyterian/Republican, btw...‘so...)

Colin Powell was speaking in retrospect, and hindsight is always 100% correct. But at the time he spoke at the UN Security council on the reasons for invading. We were dealing with faulty intelligence. I suggest you read his speech at. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2003/feb/05/iraq.usa

I think we all remember, before Roe vs Wade, scared young girls dying from back alley unsanitary abortions!
Legal abortion is the lesser evil!

Maybe, but the numbers were inflated by 10,000 by the lawyers, it wasn't as serious as you have been to believe. Question did those little girls have sex?

I am pro don't get pregnant if you do not want an baby!

How do you feel about forcing your sister or mom to have her rapist's baby? What about if your b.i.l. comes over and gets your wife pregnant? You okay with raising an incest child that isn't your own? Ready to sit at her bedside and watch your wife die because the fetus she's carrying is killing her?

But not with them.

Kasich was a democrat in republican clothing, who vetoed it because he was going to run for President!!!!! He is not even a moderate her is a gigantic tool just like you!

So if I find you, and kick your ass, or worse yet kill you, which I would never do, but for the sake of argument, it's cool if I do it privately, you absolute Ghoul. Oh, pregnancies kill women if they can't rip a completely viable human from her womb, hmm how. To borrow a phrase from baby killers, If you don't want an abortion, do not get pregnant. I am ashamed to say you live in the same state as I do, only 35 miles away!
No...Kasich was a garden variety conservative politician and not a political reactionary who wants to turn the clock back to 1775. I think it's hillarious when folks like you call political reactionaries "conservative". LOL
