Don’t you think it’s arrogant to call man the dominant species on the planet? I’d say trees are the dominant terrestrial species. Particularly in terms of dominating and affecting our environment. Birds, insects, bats all exceed humans in sheer numbers.
That’s not even considering aquatic life, considering water covers 75% of the planet doesn’t it stand to reason the dominant species on the planet lives in our oceans?

What are you calling disputable?
If by ‘dominant’ you means the ability to propagate, rabbits are way ahead of man lol. Bacteria leave everyone behind.
But it terms of domination, it’s becomes another story. Or the ability to manipulate the environment; go to the moon; create music or art; invent algebra and on and on and on and on....
It’s basically a fact that man is unique amongst the other animals.

No, it really isn't. Whales have songs. Dolphins have names for each other. All nurture their young. Some mammals are tool users.
We've been on the planet for a geological second.
because sometimes dolphins refuse to do what they are told....
Insects are the most ubiquitous live form. But my beagle thinks people are inferior. Her attitude is I am a bipedal, no nose. Only 2 legs and cannot follow a scent. If I couldn't operate a can opener, I would have no reason to exist. It is all viewpoint. People are the most destructive life form. Evolved to the point of destroying the planet.
I'd go so far as to say that dolphins probably wouldn't vote for Trump.
So, maybe they're not smarter than every person - but a lot of people.

Well, three out of four........the big bang ?.....I can't really grasp that notion, unless you think the big bang was creation itself....anything is possible.....
if not, what the hell was the big bang before it went bang....nothing ?
Nothing went bang and become something ?...... And thats the mystery....
I don't think science explains the big bang theory at all....just because we see the universe as expanding isn't enough....and there are different theory's even about that phenomena....
are we seeing what we think we're seeing or is that in itself just an illusion because of our limited perspective.
If frogs has wings they wouldn't bump their butts when they jumped. Why haven't frogs developed them yet?
Can't help yourself, I guess. The premise is supposed to be a civil discussion. i don't think that tack you are on qualifies.
Sorry, TD - and I don't mean this in an uncivil way. But it's hard for me to take ridicule seriously from a guy who keeps asking "why didn't all apes just choose to evolve"?

We ARE special.
No other species even approaches man on several levels. There isn’t even a close second. The fossil record doesn’t adequately reflect it.
your rock clock is slow....No, it really isn't. Whales have songs. Dolphins have names for each other. All nurture their young. Some mammals are tool users.
