9 Out Of 10 Americans Are Completely Wrong About This Mind-Blowing Fact

I can buy into the argument that a strong middle class is mandatory for a strong and resilient democracy. I can also buy the argument that extreme concentrated wealth can result in an oligarchy where the masses become slaves. I, (mr. kill all takers) can even buy into the argument that there needs to be a fail safe to prevent that from happening, as a necessary evil, not because it's unfair or mean or because "bawwwwww poor people," but because it's the only way to ensure the masses are free and we don't descend into tyranny. I get all that on a fundamental level.

The problem is, that's not where the video is coming from. It's coming from the "woe is me, this isn't fair, this is mean, this guy makes 400x more than me I should make 100k as a janitor. :(" They aren't concerned about freedom or autonomy. It's coming from a taker perspective that isn't concerned about the welfare of a free society, it's just people looking to get theirs. It's an argument that they believe they are entitled to other peoples money, entitled for things to be more fair. That's where they lose me. You aren't entitled to shit.

One is entitled to be compensated fairly for the fruits of one's labours. Herein lies your error. The fruits of the productivity of the greatest workers in the world (true story bro, look it up)
have not been shared fairly with the workers for 30 years now. This, combined with the completely unjust capital gains tax has skewed the field to the point of dire proportions.

The perspective of the producer of the video is entirely irrelevant, as is your whining rant about it.

If you look at Germany, a massively successful country by anyone's standards, the ratio between directors and workers pay is far less than in Anglo-American companies.

To be fair though, some of the ratio is smaller because the worker's pay is higher in comparison than the US worker.

Maybe we should compare the salaries and perks that our elected officials make, when compared to the rest of the populace! :eek2:

Why not? Present an actual argument please. Who is to say if they are deserving or not?

Secondly, America has by far some of the biggest companies in the entire world. I would like to see the median instead of the average, because warren buffet and bill gates are probably single handily distorting the average. For the vast majority of companies, that 475:1 number probably isn't the case.

The biggest and best argument, in my opinion, is that those sorts of salaries and bonuses are one of the primary drivers for the short termism which is so endemic in US business culture.

Exactly. That is the greed as a mental illness factor of the shareholder's idiocy in allowing this.

How is it "resentment" to say that someone is paid more than they have earned? That's called a fact. Resentment brings emotion into it that is not warranted by that argument. I have no such emotion about that outcome.

You're just lazy, or stupid. It's a boring, repetitive counter-argument. "You're just jealous!" You sound like a kid. Grow up, Count Chocula.

No, it's not a "fact" it's your OPINION, and it is based on sheer selfishness and jealousy. You can try to insult me and run away from the facts, it doesn't matter to me, in fact I kind of expect you to do that... what else are you going to do? Admit that I am right and you are a jealous self-absorbed little twit?

CEOs are paid what the Board of Directors think is appropriate. The Board of Directors are appointed by the shareholders of the company. You see, the CEO is their responsibility, and what they pay him, is their business, not yours. You may feel they are paying him too much, but the company doesn't belong to you, it's not your business. They obviously disagree with you, probably because they aren't self-absorbed little spoiled twits who think the world owes them something.

Yes, my argument is repetitive because it's the truth and you've not refuted it. And guess what, skippy? It's going to keep being repeated until you STFU or refute my argument. I'm not your bitch mother or son of a bitch old man, I ain't going to coddle you and give in to to your spoiled selfishness. Now why don't you go run hide behind your sister and call me some more names? That's about all you are good for now.

Almost word for word, the arguments for Marxism, as articulated by Karl Marx. Uncanny, it's almost verbatim.

You see the problem here, you are just talking arrant bullshit. The majority of major corporations are controlled by institutional investors like Goldman Sachs and hedge funds. To seriously postulate that the small share owner has any say is just barking mad and completely wrongheaded.

Exactly. That is the greed as a mental illness factor of the shareholder's idiocy in allowing this.

No, shareholders of major corporations are generally not mentally ill people.... unlike most of the indigents shitting on cop cars during the Occupy movement. Shareholders have a stake in the corporation, and want nothing more than the corporation to turn a profit and create more wealth for them. Who they decide to hire as a CEO, and what they decide to pay him/her, is in their interest, and none of your fucking business. If you want to start a rival corporation and pay your CEO $7.50 an hour, I am sure they won't mind.

No, the majority of corporations who have a CEO, also have a Board of Directors who vote on and hire the CEO. Goldman Sachs handles investments, and hedge funds are a legal and honest investment tool in the capitalist free market system. You want to pretend that corporations are these out of control entities, just out there ruining people's lives left and right, and that just isn't the case. You want to throw out names like Goldman Sachs, or Enron, or whatever, because it is an emotive plea to the ignorant. You want to play on this continued meme about the rich, and paint them as corruptly as you can, because your goal is to destroy the capitalist system.

It's important that thinking and rational Americans understand this. You people don't give a good shit about the poor or needy, you don't care about jobs or the economy, you are brainwashed fucktard Marxist Socialists, who want to take down Capitalism, so that you can usher in this glorious Utopia you think we can have. People need to stop listening to your propaganda, stop clicking on your links and watching your videos, and just start calling you Communists to your face every time you open your pie hole.

Oh... and you retards can "groan" at every post I make, it actually makes my day! It shows me that I bested you here, you had nothing else to say, and your only recourse was to "groan" my posts.

Apparently the concept of institutional investors that control corporations is beyond your ken. I used to think that you were just a third mad but it looks like you've turned up the dial to two thirds!!

Can you cite some actual corporations as examples of what the fuck you're talking about? Because every corporation I know of in America, who has a CEO, also has a Board of Directors and shareholders. The BOD are selected by the shareholders, who are the people who have money invested in the company. Since it's highly illogical they'd want to screw themselves, I don't understand your complaint. Whether the shareholders are represented by an 'institutional investor' or not, the actions of the BOD are always in the best interest of the company, and I don't know of any example where this is not the case.

No, you fucking ignorant retard.

Yes it is Runetard. I've read Karl Marx, and I promise you, it's almost verbatim, the points you are making. Whether you are smart enough to actually be aware of this or not, I have no idea. Some of you fucktards don't have enough sense to make breakfast cereal, and some of you are very astute pupils of Marxism, who know exactly what you are espousing. I strongly suspect you fall into the stupid category, and actually have no idea what kind of ideology you are supporting. But I am here to tell you, it's Marxism, almost word for word, from the writings and ramblings of Karl Marx.

Now back in the acid trip dope smoking 60s, I can see how a bunch of radical college kids might have adopted and supported the policies of Marxist Socialism. It was cool back then, and there was an argument to be made for these policies because the Soviet Union was strong and vibrant. But this is 2013, the Soviet Union collapsed and the economy failed. Other Socialist regimes have collapsed or ended in genocide as well, since those days. So you'd think this idiocy would have ended by the 90s, at least. But nooooo..... we have to endure yet another generation of morons who think there is a such thing as Utopia, and if we only give up our fucking capitalist freedom, we can all enjoy a wonderful life of milk and honey.

That's the best.

Let me know when you have some facts & real arguments in your quiver, Count Chocula.

I already hit you square between your goofy eyes with the facts, and you couldn't refute any of them, so you started hurling insults and calling me names. Now you're pretending the previous posts don't exist and I haven't presented any facts. This might work with Mommy and Daddy when you aren't getting your way, but it doesn't work here.

It says right in the bible a workman must be paid freak.

You haven't said anything except for the usual puerile, generalizing BS of "you're jealous" and "you're a Marxist!" I'm neither. I don't really believe that you've read Marx, but even if you did, you didn't understand it, just like you didn't understand "Origin of a Species" (remember that? Where does an arm COME from? Where does it come from? Priceless.)

What CEO's get paid IS my business, because I agree with the founders about the formation of a new aristocracy - something that they had just escaped from. I'd recommend that you read their writings on the topic, but you wouldn't understand those either.

Now, call me a jealous Marxist again - you're so good at that.

Calm down, calm down. You are in danger of exposing your southern ignorance.
