when we refrain from criticizing black troublemakers as loudly as miscreants of other races, we reinforce the idea that African-Americans are somehow prone to such acts. What could be more racist than that?


You people don't even acknowledge that mass shooting happen all the time in our inner cities where young black men are slaughtered nightly, yet you call other people racist and only talk about "mass shootings" when they occur outside of our urban centers. why is that?

what are you talking about? you don't believe black killers are in the news at least as much as white? that somehow all media is ignoring black murders? and i showed you yesterday from FBI stats that 80% of all murder victims knew their killers, that is was not connected to burglaries or muggings or home invasions, but you still act like it is due to gang violence which is stupid and untrue.

the actual homicide rate is lower than a lot of cities and lower than when reagan and both bushes were in office.

I showed you yesterday how most of those crimes are committed with illegal guns.


and no, you miss my point entirely you are two wrapped up in blaming everyone republican not the perpetrators to have a rational discussion with.

We don't need to ban firearms...we simply can just ban all current and future production of firearms.

Then offer a generous federal gun no-questions-asked buyback stimulus program that overpays for the guns in circulation.

So basically, walk into a police station with your guns, walk out with cash or a check.

I think that most "gun owners" would rather take the cash payout than not...and if you wildly overpay, like $1K per handgun and $3K per rifle, I think you'll end up with a lot of family members of ammosexuals turning their guns in for the cash.

Actually, I have seen two different buyback programs run, in both cases all they got nothing but junk guns and those that someone inherited and did not want, everyday citizens were not bringing in their firearms to sell and the criminals sure as heck were not.

You cannot legally prohibit the manufacture of firearms, you could try but it would die in committee and never see the floor for a vote, but I assume you know that.

Right, but what was being offered for the buyback?

Cuz if it's only a couple hundred bucks, that's not gonna make it worth their while.

You need to make it worth their while, which is why we should overpay for the guns. I'm talking thousands of dollars per gun. A true economic stimulus program.

Well, I'm not so sure about that. I think you can definitely ban the future production of firearms...we ban production of things all the time in this country (Hello...Juul pods anyone?), so firearms are no different in my view.

So they couldn't do it in the parking lot while kids are in line to get on the bus? This has nothing to do with race! The point is, it isn't the weapon, it's the person, if they take a notion to kill mass numbers they will find a way!

Look the more the government tries to take away guns the more people believe they really need to hold on to them. I have had this discussion with many gun owners and Not One said they would be willing to turns their in for any amount of money, I know I would not.

I am sure that plan is already being kicked around in the halls of Congress, and we both know that is will die.

Look I am positive that the Dems will try and succeed in banning AR's for a while, they managed it once before, it did not make any difference in the crime rate because few crimes are committed using an AR, and eventually the law will be killed off. They will Never be able to ban handguns, that would mean Millions of Dems would have give their up. And I ask how would you enforce such laws, few States would enforce it, in fact some already have laws that say they would not. So then what door to door confiscation, nope, never happen.

Instead of focusing on the tool maybe we should be focusing on the true problems, Crimes and Mental Illness, but yes those would be far harder and take more actual work but nothing will change if we do not, just so ya know.

Sure, but could you say the same thing about the other people who live in your house or theirs?

You might not want to sell your gun back for a few grand, but someone else in your house might.
