I like to do this from time to time...

I know this is fairly meaningless, even though I have a good track record, but who do you belive will win the 2012 race in the following matchups....

Obama v. Romney - Edge Obama, but it would be close.

Obama v. Palin - Blowout Obama, but it will not happen bc Palin cant win the nomination and likely wont run.

Obama v. Newt - Blowout Obama, He may run, he cant win the nomination.

Obama v. Hukabee - Blowout Obama, he cant get nomination and wont run.

Obama v. Unknown as of this time - Very likely a win by unknown.

Why exactly, are you bothering to position candidates who won't even get nominated? You should focus on Romney, Pawlenty, Jindal, Christie, and other people who can get nominated...

You believe any of those guys have a chance? I don't. Maybe Pawlenty, but I doubt it.

But, hell, what are your predictions with those losers?

You dumbfuck, I said those were candidates who could actually get nominated. You conceeded that Romney was the ONLY candidate on your list who could get nominated by the GOP.

And, how are any of them losers, considering that they only have to tackle Obama after 4 years of chaos?

2012????? Are you completely mad over there? Think yourselves lucky if you survive in tact to the end of 2010. You seem to carry a national death wish!

I think at this point, it is a very legitimate consideration Obama MIGHT not be the Democrat nominee in 2012. It could be Hilary... stranger things have happened.

I would seriously doubt that any other country in the world starts campaigning for the next election barely half way through the current term. It is no wonder that American elections are, to a large extent, bought. And as for democracy... fergeddit. How can you have any form of democracy when those good men and true who lack the ill gotten gains of the corrupt and powerful have but a slim chance of making their voices heard above the cacophony of baying, brainless buffoons rich by Daddy's greed and dishonesty.
On the rare occasion that a true servant of the people is elected the rabid right spend billions in an effort to crucify him or her.
Certainly glad we dont have that system. (Even though our system is far from perfect!)

Its been a long time since a candidate was refused renomination, though. Both Truman and LBJ bowed out before such could befall them.

So Im the onlyone willing to make a prediction?

Yep....
Oh, I'll make a prediction... I predict you are WRONG on your predictions!

It's WAY too early to tell what will happen in 2012. As I said, very real possibility Obama will not be the Dem nominee, also a very real possibility, the Rep nominee is someone not even on the radar at the moment.

There's zero possibility that Obama will not be the Democratic nominee.

I agree with some of your picks, Gerud. Palin won't be nominated, and therefore can't be ranked. Newt won't be nominated, and therefore can't be ranked. Huckabee won't be nominated, and therefore can't be ranked.

Just about anyone, such as Romney, Christie, Pawlenty, Jindal, Hunter, etc., who can be nominated, will likely win, seeing as how Obama will look even worse in 2012 than he does now...

Okay, now we have a prediction... Interesting analysis.

I disagree, it appears to me that President Obama will look a lot better in two years. 1) The Republicans will likely have a majority in the House of Reps. so he will have an enemy to battle. 2) The economy will be better, I dont know if it will be hugely better or if it will be simply moderatly better, but it will improve some, thats just the way it works. 3) President Obama will fire much of his cabinent in the comming months and launch a "new begining" as Regan and Clinton did, this is part of the plan, remember two years is forever in politics.

Like him or not, I suspect President Obama will be in much better shape in two years than he is now, and the R's dont have a plausable opponant for him yet.

I still have to ask those of you blaming President Obama for the current economy?

Who was to blame for the horrable economy two years into Presdent Reagan's presidency?

Who should get credit for the great economy two years into President Clinton's presidency?

if Romney gets the nomination expect a few traditionally north blue states to turn red.. now only if he can get the nomination and if the religious south states get behind him would he win.

This has been answered for you numerous times on this board but since you obviously want it to be told to you once again here it is.

No one is blaming Obama for the economic conditions that he took office with. How he is being judged is how he is dealing with those conditions i.e. what measures has he put in place to deal with the current situation and what kind of affect are those measures having. With the last part I mean does it look like it is helping the current situation improve and it looks like we are heading towards good things in the future.

Well right now we've seen what kind of measures Obama has used to attempt to stimulate the economy and we are seeing what kind of affect they have had and we are seeing some going forward prognosisis. That is what he is being judged on.

You would see Southern Conservative Voter turnout drop drastically and the Tea Party group stay home.

But I agree he has the best chance of any of the current likely options.
