Gingrich gets important endorsement.

(Posted by apple0154) It's the excuse. Republicans espouse hard work and family values while saying hard work leads to infidelity. Surely even you can see the absurdity.

Democrats don't espouse hard work and family values? Hey lookie here...........We finally have an honest liberal.

Ahhh, that old comprehension problem raising it's head again, I see. What Democrats don't espouse is hard work leads to infidelity.

I do have to give Gingrich credit for coming up with an original excuse.

What was Bill Clinton's excuse? If it's good enough for Bill Clinton, why isn't it good enough for Newt? Is that old double standard knocking at your door again? Another thing you guys have lied about is his divorce. His wife initiated it.

Again, Newt speaks on seeking forgiveness from God for his past. Evangelicals understand and eat up that kind of "Grace"...

I'm telling you, you are wrong about all of this, from "hypocrisy" to how the Evangelicals will react to Newt's past, as well as repeating old stories that have been refuted.

You can get all "angry faced" and upset over "hypocrisy" but the reality is, there is none. The kind of "grace" that Newt speaks of will resonate with Evangelicals, and nobody else cares about the relationships. Only the left thinks the Evangelicals seek perfection. If Clinton spoke of God's forgiveness and how he sought it through "grace" he'd have been golden with Evangelicals too...

The hypocracy is Newt going after Clinton while he (Newt) was engaging in adultery on a continuing basis. The hypocracy is Newt buffering the adultery by adding it happened due to his patriotic fervor. He was so engrossed in helping the country he accidently slipped in bed, over and over again.

I suppose Clinton could say he was stressed and needed a flavor enhanced cigar.

You're confused, poor thing. Clinton was not impeached for "adultery". Clinton violated his oath of office by denying an American citizen their rights and obstructing justice and then lying about it. If you have any questions, I'll help you figure it out. Just ask.

Don't we all wish life was really as simple as it is in la la land.

We're electing a President, not a saint. School grades are important. The details of a divorce 30 years ago aren't. Just for the record, here is the truth. She never had cancer. She had a benign tumor.

Not a Saint but not one who blames his mistakes on being too patriotic. If being Speaker drove him to adultery God help the country if/when he starts to implement his "Contract with America" or whatever his great plans are. Either he'll be chasing the White House female staff down the halls or viciously abusing himself in the Presidential washroom.

Bill didn't offer an excuse as far as I recall. The only explanation I remember is he said Monica lowered her pants enough for him to see her G-string.

As for Newt's wife, of course she initiated the divorce. It's obvious Newt had no intention of ending the affair as he married the woman. Are you going to blame his wife for divorcing a guy who's screwing around and doesn't intend to stop?

Billy had a lot more going on than Monica. I think there were at least 4 more that we know of. Newt had one affair and then he married her. Clinton was a serial adulterer.

Yea, yea, yea. The whole multi-million dollar investigation had nothing to do consensual sex. DNA testing on a sperm stained dress and tales of a cigar were just, well, just regular evidence in a regular trial.

Who was Paula Jones?

The difference is that Bill Clinton was a liar, but Newt was a liar AND a hypocrite. Bill Clinton got publicly grilled by a prosecutor about his extra-marital affairs. Gingrich publicly criticized Clinton about Lewinsky, all the while hiding his own six-year affair with Bisek. Got it now?

Two affairs that we know of, his second and third wives. And according to the Foggy Bottom grapevine, he was a womanizer. Although I myself fail to see the appeal. Maybe it's the "power is the ultimate aphrodisiac" thing.

(Excerpt)
1976: While still married to his first wife he met Anne Manning. "We had oral sex," she said. "He prefers that modus operandi because then he can say, 'I never slept with her.'"

1980. While still married to his first wife he met Marianne Ginther. They married in August 1981, six months after his divorce. (Hmmm. Ginther and Gingrich. Seems like it would be a good match.)

During Gingrich and Ginther's divorce proceedings, congressional aide Calista Bisek --23 years Gingrich's junior--admitted to having a six-year affair with the former congressman. Bisek and Gingrich were regularly seen having breakfast together at the Supreme Court cafeteria throughout the 1990s, though their affair wasn't outed until 1999. At the time, Gingrich had publicly condemned former President Clinton's infidelities with Monica Lewinsky, while discreetly carrying on an affair of his own. According to Ginther, "He'd already asked [Bisek] to marry him before he asked me for a divorce." Gingrich and Bisek married in August 2000.

When questioned about his multiple marriages in March 2011, Gingrich admitted to Christian Broadcasting Network's David Brody that he had done "things that were wrong" during his married life. "There's no question at times of my life, partially driven by how passionately I felt about this country, that I worked far too hard and things happened in my life that were not appropriate. (End)

After being married to Ginther for 19 years Gingrich asked the Catholic Church to annul the marriage. (Let’s just pretend it didn’t happen.)

Almost a quarter of a century of affairs brought on by his passion for his country. Looks like Leroy was no slouch when it came to patriotism. I hope folks have read the fine print in his Contract with America.

At least he married them. Bill makes Hillary look either like a fool or merely an arrangement.

No one cares. Over half the nation is divorced. That's not gonna work in this campaign. Bill Clinton set the bar and Newt is well above it.

Who was Paula Jones?

And here's the nonsense I was talking about. "In late 1997, Judge Susan Webber Wright ruled Jones was "entitled to information regarding any individuals with whom President Clinton had sexual relations or proposed to or sought to have sexual relations and who were, during the relevant time frame, state or federal employees."

Why? What business was it of Jones or the court to demand such information? Why should Clinton have to tell the world about any and all consensual sexual relationships with state or federal employees? Had Judge Wright never heard the saying, "Discretion is the better part of valor"? Depending on whom Clinton slept with people's careers and marriages could have been adversely affected.

The whole fiasco was nothing but perverts wanting to get off on the sexual life of others regardless of the possible destruction of the lives of people not involved in any way.

Its unfortunate that Clinton had to perjur himself over sex, seeing as how its so distracting to leftists.

It would depend on when he asked for the forgiveness...

Reality: Christians believe in forgiveness, even for cheating. The main difference, is speaking of seeking God's forgiveness...

pure bullshit. Evangelicals would NEVER given Clinton a pass. The viewed a centrist president as a stark raving socialist. Anyone left of Attila the Hun is a commie, and god hates commies, especially when they fornicate.
