You can say anything you want about the Bible. But you can't say that unless someone believes every word of it, they're not a Christian. Because there are lots of Christians that do not.

This is ridiculous. Christians are the followers of Christian faith, which is articulated in The Holy Bible... note the word "HOLY!" It's impossible to actually BE a Christian and NOT believe in the Bible.... you may CLAIM you are a Christian, but unless you believe in the Holy Word of God, you can't be. Furthermore, Christianity specifically requires you to believe that Jesus was the son of Christ, and died on the cross for your sins.

I've repeatedly stated that I am not Christian, I am a spiritualist. If it were possible to believe only parts of the Bible, and be a Christian, I could call myself a Christian. I believe most of the Bible, that doesn't mean I believe the context to be literal, or that my interpretations are the same as others. To the contrary, I believe many of the stories in the Bible are metaphoric and told in a way to be entertaining while emphasizing a moral or principle. "Metaphoric" means that something isn't intended "literally" ....I feel I need to explain these big words to you. I also believe this is why there are thousands of Christian denominations, people have different interpretations of what the Bible says... but ALL Christians have one thing in common, they ALL believe in the Bible and Jesus Christ.

They all believe in Jesus Christ. They don't all believe in the Bible, or at least all of it.

So, you're wrong.

wow....you are completely spazzing out. you made the post at 10:52 and then at 10:52 you claim i'm running scared "again"....lmao. i never ran from anything. you do realize people don't live on the board 24/7, well, except for legion.

you're such a retarded spazz.

LMAO.... still using my description of you in an attempt to gain control of the word little yurtle?

I was MOCKING your stupidity with the 'running scared' comment. You had said something similar when you reposted your Quran quote and pretended I hadn't answered.

this response by spazzfreak was SEVENTEEN HOURS after my post. i don't respond to his posts for a couple of hours because i'm not online and he claims i'm running or hiding. what does that say about your 17 hours SF?

Let me guess... you are still scared to address it, despite the fact that this is NOT the first time I have posted it and despite the fact that the ANSWERS are what you have been bitching about?

Poor little spaz.... can't address the comments you have pretended to be desperately seeking?

But that is NOT what you are doing. You are TELLING everyone that the Muslims beliefs are fictional, made up, that the Muslims believe in a different God because of it. That is NOT simply quoting the Bible and trying to explain it. You are TAKING the position of an EXTREME Christian fundamentalist and defending that position to the death.

Nothing I have said is inaccurate or not factually based. I quoted the Bible for the idiot who wanted to know where God promised the land to the Jews, and then again, when some idiot claimed you could parse the Bible and believe bits and pieces of it. I'm not here to argue what the Bible means, or what God wants us to do... those are theological arguments.

It's not "EXTREME" to point out the history surrounding Islam. It was a religion created centuries AFTER Judaism, AFTER Christianity, for the sole purpose and intent of opposing Jews and Christians and destroying their religions. The history of Muslims bears this truth out, as that has been their ENTIRE history. You will not find a period in history where Muslims accepted Jews and Christians and lived in peaceful harmony... it has NEVER happened! It's not likely to happen NOW!

Christian's did not alter the God of Judaism. Christian's believe that Christ is the Messiah promised in the OT- Most first century Christian's were Jews.

differences and similarities between Islam and Christianity.

Yet the claims by Yurt and Ditzie are that Muslims DID alter God.

So the question is... how can THEY claim that while ignoring the great discrepancies between Christianity and Judaism?

The Muslims and Jews both believe in a single God of Abraham. Yet the two buffoons claim they don't and that Muslims 'altered' God. The Christians create the 'Trinity'.... yet somehow they still believe in the same God as the Jews?

To be clear, I believe all three groups worship the same entity. My question was directed at the pathetic 'logic' used by the two dolts.

They all believe in Jesus Christ. They don't all believe in the Bible, or at least all of it.

So, you're wrong.

If they don't believe in the Bible... ALL of the Bible... they are NOT Christians! Now... if what you MEAN to say is, they have differing interpretations of what they believe the Bible says... I am fine with that, but that's not what you're claiming. You can't pick and choose which parts of the Bible you wish to believe and which parts you don't... God is pretty clear on this, according to the several verses I posted earlier on the matter. If you can take nothing from or add nothing too... it means you have to accept it as a whole.

Again, the order of creation of the different religions is irrelevant to their validity. Many stories/theories are revised over time. Some times new information dispels previous beliefs, sometimes it confirms it. Little regarding the outlandish statements you have made about Islam is 'factual'.... it is 99% YOUR OPINION. (as a non-Christian of course)

Again, you're simply wrong. That is just your interpretation of what Christianity should be, and what the Bible is.

There are a great many Chrisitans - millions - who do not believe the entire Bible, OT and NT.

So, Christians MUST believe the following in order to be Christians?

Deuteronomy 13:6If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, which is as thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers; 7Namely, of the gods of the people which are round about you, nigh unto thee, or far off from thee, from the one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth; 8Thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him: 9But thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people. 10And thou shalt stone him with stones, that he die; because he hath sought to thrust thee away from the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

Deuteronomy 13: 13Certain men, the children of Belial, are gone out from among you, and have withdrawn the inhabitants of their city, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which ye have not known; 14Then shalt thou enquire, and make search, and ask diligently; and, behold, if it be truth, and the thing certain, that such abomination is wrought among you; 15Thou shalt surely smite the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, destroying it utterly, and all that is therein, and the cattle thereof, with the edge of the sword.

Deuteronomy 17:3And hath gone and served other gods, and worshipped them, either the sun, or moon, or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded; 4And it be told thee, and thou hast heard of it, and enquired diligently, and, behold, it be true, and the thing certain, that such abomination is wrought in Israel: 5Then shalt thou bring forth that man or that woman, which have committed that wicked thing, unto thy gates, even that man or that woman, and shalt stone them with stones, till they die.

2 Chronicles 15:13That whosoever would not seek the LORD God of Israel should be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman.

Since Matthew, Mark, Luke and John wrote portions of the Bible, yet their stories don't always mesh with each other.... Exactly how can a Christian believe ALL of the Bible?

So, are you going to then IGNORE the parts of the bible I quoted to you? Do you assert that all 'true' Christians believe in THOSE passages of the 'holy' Bible as well?

What is meant by "believe in" when you make that comment? Because... look.... you and I can "believe in" something, and have completely different interpretations and understandings of it, of what we actually "believe" it means. Do you comprehend that? For instance, the Biblical story of Adam and Eve... where Eve eats the forbidden fruit... Some people might believe she literally ate an apple from a tree... others may believe this is a metaphoric story, and she didn't physically eat a fruit from a tree. Does one of them NOT "believe" in the Bible?

You will notice that you posted THREE minutes later on this thread, then again a few minutes later.... You were ON the board Yurt and you were posting on this THREAD..... Yet you continue to run away from addressing my points to you. Fucking bigoted coward.

ROFLMAO..... Do you realize that you just made the EXACT argument for why Muslims and Christians and Jews can ALL 'believe in' the SAME god, yet have "completely different interpretations and understandings of it"

Now you're trying to pull this into another theological debate, and that's not what I am interested in here. The first problem is, you are attempting to define "believe in" as meaning someone has to hold a particularly literal viewpoint you have established, and that is just not factually or logically accurate to assume. People believe all kinds of things, and interpret things in different ways. The Bible is very complex, and difficult to completely get your mind around... that's why they have SEMINARY schools! This is why colleges and universities have entire courses on comparative religious studies, and why millions of books and articles are written on the subject. You are quoting passages from the Old Testament, and generally speaking, those are the "Pre-Jesus" teachings of Christianity, before the Reformation, before Jesus died for our sins... these are presented in The Bible to give a complete history and guideline for Christian followers, so they know the whole story, where they came from and how things were in the beginning, so that they better understand Jesus' teachings, and why it was so important. It all goes together as one... you are trying to parse it, then argue it on 'stand-alone' merit, which is intellectually dishonest. I won't engage you in an intellectually dishonest debate on theology. Sorry.

ROFLMAO..... Do you realize that you just made the EXACT argument for why Muslims and Christians and Jews can ALL 'believe in' the SAME god, yet have "completely different interpretations and understandings of it"

But they don't believe in "the same" God. Muslims believe in Allah... and Allah, as defined in Islam, is nothing at all like the God of Abraham, understood by Christians and Jews.
