Obama's house campaign speech: strawmen and hubris

We don't have to speculate on what Bush would have done. He DID just stay in Crawford, while there was a void of leadership and people were stranded & struggling.

Oh, I know.... and we need only look at how much worse Katrina was than Irene, as a result of Bush staying in Crawford. Unlike Bush, who just sat there with his goat book, Obama leaped into action! Cutting short, his month-long vacation, to confront the disaster head on! The people of New York never felt the least bit of struggle, nor did they ever feel stranded, even when the subway and mass transit was closed, because they all knew Obama would see them through! Rumor has it, he prepared a special speech, which he delivered to the hurricane personally, and told it that he was the president and in charge, and the hurricane needed to pass over the people of New York, and the hurricane so admired Obama that it respected his wishes... my what a man! If only Bush could have been so bold as to tackle Katrina in the same manner.... no telling how many lives could have been spared! :barf:

Wait a sec...Bush was STILL working his way through "My Pet Goat" by the time Katrina came around?

At one point Obama identified Abraham Lincoln as the founder of the Republican Party.
In the case of Obama, the media yawned.

Actually, they did more than yawn; government-funded PBS has altered the transcript of the President's speech, removing the offending comment.

The New York Times transcript has the following quote:

"We all remember Abraham Lincoln as the leader who saved our Union. Founder of the Republican Party. But in the middle of a civil war, he was also a leader who looked to the future -- a Republican President who mobilized government to build the Transcontinental Railroad -- (applause) -- launch the National Academy of Sciences, set up the first land grant colleges. (Applause.) And leaders of both parties have followed the example he set."

But how does it appear in the PBS transcript?

"We all remember Abraham Lincoln as the leader who saved our Union. But in the middle of a Civil War, he was also a leader who looked to the future - a Republican president who mobilized government to build the transcontinental railroad; launch the National Academy of Sciences; and set up the first land grant colleges. And leaders of both parties have followed the example he set."

So PBS has purposely altered a transcript containing a major gaffe by the President.
-----------

Now, Obama the Pinhead says in a speech that Abe Lincoln was the founder of the Republican party....and the media, being the fair and balanced mouth piece of the Democrats and liberals in general, cover it up by changing the transcript of the speech and the major networks and cable news just ignore the entire thing........

Imagine, if Bush or Palin or Bachmann would have said the same thing....they would have been ridiculed and savaged by the networks from now until the election....in all 57 states too....:palm:

I read that today. I'm shocked but not surprised. Another reason to stop govt funding of PBS.

What really cracks me up is the pinheads that routinely defend PBS as being oh so "fair and balanced".....so blinded by their partisan bias they can't bear admiting what is so obvious to the rest of us....

The fact...and it is fact...is the main stream media isn't covering it either.....ignoring it is just as bad as actively covering it up....

Everyone is too busy remembering 9/11 to refer to it I guess. It's just another example of the corruption in this nation.
