We don't have to speculate on what Bush would have done. He DID just stay in Crawford, while there was a void of leadership and people were stranded & struggling.
Oh, I know.... and we need only look at how much worse Katrina was than Irene, as a result of Bush staying in Crawford. Unlike Bush, who just sat there with his goat book, Obama leaped into action! Cutting short, his month-long vacation, to confront the disaster head on! The people of New York never felt the least bit of struggle, nor did they ever feel stranded, even when the subway and mass transit was closed, because they all knew Obama would see them through! Rumor has it, he prepared a special speech, which he delivered to the hurricane personally, and told it that he was the president and in charge, and the hurricane needed to pass over the people of New York, and the hurricane so admired Obama that it respected his wishes... my what a man! If only Bush could have been so bold as to tackle Katrina in the same manner.... no telling how many lives could have been spared!
