Another topsy-tervy, illogical, bizarre thing is the proposed sanctions/punishment that should follow an illegal abortion. For example, it's been proposed the woman should not be charged but the doctor should receive, perhaps, 3 - 5 years imprisonment.

So, a woman puts out a contract on the life of another human being, a child no less, and is not prosecuted. The actual "hit man" is sentenced to 3 - 5 years.

Yep, that certainly reinforces the value of human life.

Then we compare taking out a contract on an innocent child (proposing no charges against the initiator and 3 - 5 for the assassin) compared to a contract on a physically abusive, drunken husband charging both the initiator (the wife) and assassin with pre meditated, first degree murder.

And there's folks who actually believe that's OK.

ROFLMAO.... again you show your complete ignorance in genetics. The fertilized egg cell will most definitely tell you the embryo is human. It is also developing and growing which means it is alive. There is no question to either of these two points.

The DNA also can tell us if the child is a boy or girl, brown hair or blond, etc... we have the technology to determine these things by looking at a single cell. The DNA of that cell would prove it is a unique human life.

In the 60's when women took Thalidomide the result was babies were born without arms. Even at our stage of DNA knowledge I doubt a DNA sample of a fetilized cell/egg could determine if a baby would be born without arms. My point is DNA shows human material. It does not prove there is or ever will be a human being. It does not show if a heart or brain or lungs or a human being, for that matter, is or will ever be present. It simply shows human material. That's why the idea that DNA proves the existence of a human being is nonsense. Stated another way, if a being is present then DNA can establish if that being is human. It can not establish the presence of a human being.

DNA CAN establish that it is human and if we were to take the embryo out and study it, we could tell race, gender, hair color, eye color, we could pinpoint any deformities etc...

DNA can only show if something is composed of human material. It does not determine if something is a human being. It can be determined if a strand of hair is human material but, obviously, a strand of hair is not a human being. Is this so difficult to comprehend?

The only stupidity here is twisting the English language. Things come about by a process. An egg is not a chicken nor an acorn an oak tree, yet, this basic common sense is thrown out when it comes to fertilized cells and human beings.

And as much as DNA can tell us, “race, gender, hair color, eye color, we could pinpoint any deformities etc”, it can’t even tell us why 50% of “human beings” spontaneously abort. So much for it being the answer-all anti-abortionists like to claim it is.

If you think your arguments make sense start using the same language you use when discussing abortion to discuss things in every day life. Perhaps check out a country style B & B where they have their own eggs and request scrambled chickens for breakfast. Or when you see a squirrel burying an acorn tell people you saw a squirrel burying an oak tree. Of if you pass a playground tell people you saw doctors and politicians and business executives on the see-saws and swings. After all, some of them will become doctors and politicians and business executives.

I would treat a woman, beaten and abused by her husband until she hired an assassin, treated differently than an assassin who kills for cash......I would treat a young girl, reacting to her circumstances, differently than a crazed doctor with a sharp knife who's profiting from killing her child....
