Let's be clear, BP is being castigated because the current administration needs a scapegoat. This is all about their precious political power, and control of government, of which they want MORE of and not LESS. BP, being conveniently foreign, AND being Big Oil, are a perfect target! In the spirit of Rham's Mantra, never to let a good crisis go to waste, I really have to wonder if this administration has INTENTIONALLY drug its feet in responding, so that people will realize the overwhelming and massive devastation, and they can 'spin' it into a victory in their war against Big Oil! I hate to think that our leaders could be so callous and devious, but I wouldn't put it past this administration... wouldn't surprise me one bit!
But Tom, that's the reason you are hearing the unusual amount of castigation, the conservatives hold you accountable for the cost of cleaning this up, but BP has admitted it is accountable, and has acted commendably so far, in dealing with the huge public relations nightmare, while at least TRYING to do something to help. That's more than I can say for Obama!
