Canada actually removed sections of the line between Canada/U.S and repaired the damaged land. Now they simply did what they should have done initially...built a pipeline to the Pacific.

There is a mountain range in the way, and there is no significant refinery capacity on the West Coast of Canada.
Keystone is already built and operating.

Sour crude is typically cheaper than light sweet crude. There is a glut where Keystone dead ends, and that region typically has a little better price than other regions. We are in the process of retooling our refineries to process our light sweet crude. Our policy after WW2 was to import Mid East oil and cut back on drilling here.

Now we produce so much here, we would do better to refine it instead of exporting it.

There is no need for the Keystone XL, as all oil is traded on the world market. As long as their crap gets to market, it doesn't matter what path it takes. XL is primarily for tar sands. The Keystone already makes it all the way to Texas.

Shipping oil from Canada to Texas refineries by pipeline is the safest method.
 
Keystone was just going to pipe terribly crude oil from Canada to Texas for refining. The product was to be airplane and diesel furl shipped abroad. But what we get is all the leaks to fix and suffer through. Such a deal.

DO some research on the subject ASSHOLE , Canada IS building a pipeline to their west coast.
And nobody said the Keystone pipeline wasn't built and hasn't been in operation for years, IF you think they did then post a link.
IT is the Keystone XL pipeline that was stopped. you fucking moron.

And the irony is that Keystone was intended to get Canadian oil to the Gulf for refining inorder to export it and now Trump is putting a tariff on that oil, the humor never stops coming

So now that oil is shipped by railcar, a more dangerous and expensive method.
