When seconds count, the police are just minutes away.

The facts are the homeowner approached a man with a running chainsaw. He pointed a weapon at the man and told him to leave. The man refused and approached with a deadly weapon - the chainsaw - in hand.
I know that [FONT="]Edward Druzolowski[/FONT] is white. The article I read doesn't mention Ford's race, but if Ford were preferred they would lead with calling Druzolowski a white supremacist - so I assume Ford was also white. Druzolowski stated that he had not had encounters with Ford in the past. He stated he didn't call police because the police in his area don't respond.

'he pointed a weapon at the man'..............that was the single point of failure in the whole episode........he wasn't being advanced upon yet, therefore he had no legal justification to point a weapon at the man. I know y'all want to come down on the side of self defense............but the second he pointed his firearm, he was the threat, not the other way around.
The fact is the guy was on his old man's property with weapons... Told to get off his property more than once and advanced towards him

Correct - that's what the CCW classes teach.
We had a Sheriff, Sandra Hutchenson, who approved CCW's for citizens - but it still required classes (and follow up every four years.)
Cops have guns drawn before they reach the car if the guy in car could be a threat

Ford had a duty to retreat, Druzolowski did not. The law will side with Druzolowski on the shooting, but I could see a brandishing charge against him.

Druzolowski did not have the right to shoot Ford just for refusing to get out of his yard.

The Florida castle doctrine holds that if Druzolowski felt threatened he had the right to shoot. Further, he didn't shoot because Ford refused to leave, according to his statement, but because Ford advance on him in a menacing way.
