Fla man shooting neighbor may be self defense WHOOPS

Show me where I've ever called for defunding the police.

DeLeon Springs is not a Democrat controlled city.

It's not a city or town or municipality of any kind, period.

It is an unincorporated area of Volusia County.

You don't have the right to shoot someone just for being on it.

I never said the gun created anything.

Its presence helped create the violent situation because it made the shooter feel empowered and fearless of a younger, larger man.

Yes, he should have.

Why, do think I'd disagree with that?
Show me where I said ALL liberals, dummy.

No it didn't. What created the violence was a dickhead trespassing and not leaving when asked. Had he either not trespassed or left when asked, the "presence" of a gun would have prob irrelevant. See its reasoning like yours that help people correctly conclude that you anti gun nuts don't care about the killing you just hate guns and want them completely banned.

He was shot for approaching towards him and not stopping when warned

That's his story, anyway.

Approaching someone is not necessarily a threat.

Go to your local police station chainsaw and knifes in hand start cutting down trees on their property.. when approached by cops and told to stop you cuss them and move towards them...see what happens

I doubt moving towards them while unarmed would get me shot.

The Florida castle doctrine holds that if Druzolowski felt threatened he had the right to shoot. Further, he didn't shoot because Ford refused to leave, according to his statement, but because Ford advance on him in a menacing way.

He'll have to prove Ford posed a legitimate threat to him.

I'm not sure just approaching him constitutes a threat.

You said it to me, so who was I supposed to assume you were referring to?

Got Ashil shot

He had a trimmer on two knifes... Last time I checked knifes were weapons

Your reasoning is transparently backwards.

Two people can and should be able to have heated confrontations without one shooting the other dead.

But when there's a gun present, the chances of a shooting skyrocket.

The presence of the gun undoubtedly turned what might have ended with a physical assault at worst, with possible non-life threatening injuries, into a fatality that occured in front of the deceased 8 y/o son.

This is the America the right wants.

The wild West.

he approached Ford with a weapon pointed at him in a threatening manner.......that could be classified as premeditated

I'm no anti gunner, you should well remember, yet the issue still is that he approached said tresapasser while pointing a deadly weapon at him when he was not being threatened at that point.

"Should be able" is a totally imaginary construct
when we have 400,000,000 privately owned firearms
out in our general population right now.

We can each have an individual opinion of how our society SHOULD work
with or without the inclusion of firearms into the equation.

Does any of it matter anymore?

Can you think of a way to make four hundred million guns disappear
when a significant portion of the population thinks that we need to have even more?

Shouldn't we simply accept that for this republic's remaining life,
it's going to be a shooting gallery and the best we can do
is duck our heads if we get the chance?

Meanwhile, we're ignoring some of the actually fixable problems.

Black man was shot 13 times point blank range and killed on the sidewalk yesterday not a peep about that shooting

Oh stop it with the Babbitt bullshit.

She was taking part in a violent invasion of the US Capitol building and entering a highly restricted and protected area where the nation's top lawmakers were hiding under threat.

She was also wearing a black hoodie concealing her identity and had on a backpack with God only knew what inside.

Could have been a suicide bomber for all the cops knew.

Your insane defense of her is ridiculous.

As for Ford, were the knives displayed?

Was he brandishing them like weapons?

If not, it remains to be seen if it's a valid defense.

In Druzolowski's interview with police, he said he approached Ford and told him "to get off his property and Brian said something to the effect of, 'mind your business' followed by some cuss words," according to court documents.

Druzolowski said he pointed his gun at Ford, and Ford then allegedly "said something like, 'You are pointing a gun at me, are you going to shoot me?' and moved closer," according to court documents.

Druzolowski said he told Ford to get off his property and Ford kept moving closer, court documents said.

The 78-year-old told police he then said, "'Stop right now or I'll shoot!'"

Druzolowski told investigators "Brian kept walking closer to him and that's when he pulled the trigger for the first time," according to court documents. "He said his firearm holds 6 rounds in the cylinder, but he keeps the first two empty for safety reasons. He stated Brian heard the gun click and continued to advance towards him, so he pulled the trigger the second time. He advised this time the firearm went off and he shot Brian."

Druzolowski "indicated he thought that when he pointed the firearm at Brian, he would just leave his property," and he said "he was afraid Brian would have hurt or killed him if he did not shoot him," the documents said.

Two knives were found by Ford's body, the documents said.

So the much younger guy was on his property told to get off....and refused cussed at him and kept advancing towards him after being warned to stop more than once and had knifes

WTF do expect a lying coward to say you WALKING VOMIT?

Any man that shoots an unarmed man is a fucking COWARD!

And he is desperately trying to make excuses for himself.

You do not ever load up a gun and point it at your neighbor in a yard dispute over your dead tree limbs that are threatening your neighbors property- YOU SICK PIECE OF SHIT- NO SIR, YOU CALL THE POLICE!

When the conversation is about what role and responsibility the presence of a gun played, the idea that two people should be able to have heated disagreement without one of them getting shot, is a valid point to make.

Does it matter anymore?

I don't know, but that's a different subject.

So if a man has two knives he should be considered unarmed

Earth to little Lizard. The POLICE found two knives on him and he was advancing the shooter. Should he waited to be chased down and be stabbed? Serious question.
