Jack Smith requests an order to shut Trump up

In a filing made public today, Jack Smith has requested the court to limit Trump's inflammatory rhetoric. Trump continues to harass judges, prosecutors, agents and witnesses, resulting in multiple threats against those individuals.

It's about damn time. People are going to get killed because of Trump's big mouth and the stupidity and rage of his followers. He should be warned ONE TIME and then tossed in jail to await trial. Speech that incites violence is not protected by the First Amendment. Trump is trying to rally what's left of his troops. While we may not have another 1/6, there are plenty of complete nuts out there (some on this forum) that could act on this rhetoric.

Trump is tampering with witnesses, impacting the jury pool, and inciting violence. He is a menace to the county. It needs to end NOW. If this was anyone else, their ass would be in jail and they would have no access to social media. It's time to treat Trump in a manner befitting his actions.

It's time to cut the head off the snake, so the rest of them will slither back under the rocks they came from.

Something really bad is going to happen if this isn't stopped.
 
I agree. But that is exactly what Trump wants -- some judge to order him to STFU so that he can whip his followers into a frenzy about how his right to free speech was violated. Grievance politics -- that's all #TRE45ON's got to run on.

But the “limited” order they request would bar “statements regarding the identity, testimony, or credibility of prospective witnesses; and … statements about any party, witness, attorney, court personnel, or potential jurors that are disparaging and inflammatory, or intimidating.”

Which is why they need to make sure he has no way of communicating with his followers. Sorry, I don't care that he's running for President. Declaring your candidacy does not give you carte blanche to break the law. I think there is a real chance the judge is going to toss him in jail pending trial. No social media. No campaign rallies. I'll bet he'll stop stalling at that point. March is a long way away.

How long do you think it will take him to violate the order? I'd say less than 24 hours. And then off to jail he will go. At least that's what should happen, and finally, someone is asking for it. While it may SEEM limited, Trump violates that multiple times every single day. I don't think he can help himself.

Agree. We need to quit pretending Trump is not behind all threats of violence against political figures.

Yes, but his insistence to continue running his mouth is a violation of his Bond arrangement he made with the judge!

He is going to be sitting in jail soon if he don't learn to shut his FACE!
