What I saw and heard....

1) the cop asked him for his ID etc.

2) he told the cop he had a gun.

3) the cop immediately told him very adamantly not to reach for the gun.

4) instead of freezing and putting his hands on the dashboard, he stubbornly and stupidly kept on reaching for something. Might've been his ID, might've been the gun to blow the cop away with. Cop had no way of knowing.

5) the girlfriend immediately began producing and narrating the lawsuit lottery video.

Bottom line... when a cop starts screaming "DON'T REACH FOR IT!!!!!", whatever he requested before no longer applies.

Your hands stop moving and you freeze like a statue.

Hold your hands still in mid air until you're told to do something else, then do that.

Simple enough for most people, but some people just cannot or will not do what they're told because they're stubbid.

Ran across this article on the shooting and now I am in total agreement with you.

The video of the Aug. 24 shooting, released Friday, shows Young in her car in a parking space as a police officer orders her to exit the vehicle. A second officer is seen drawing his firearm and stepping in front of the car, despite a department policy advising officers to get out of the way of an approaching vehicle instead of firing their weapon.

Thanks. It was clearly a tactical error. The person could have been the #1 terrorist on the FBI list and the officer would still have made a mistake by standing in front of a running automobile. In that case, the criminal would have simply gunned the motor and ran him down instead of just bumping him out of the way.
