Dr. Maddow, who's in the age group of my children, earned her PhD in political science from Oxford University.
Her typical critic is semi-literate at best.

For some reason, I don't find it difficult choosing which narrative to believe.

That's the ultimate appeal to authority. Being highly educated doesn't mean you can't be a partisan hack or full of sh*t.
 
'Truth doesn't sell among the working class'. That's an interesting concept. If true, could explain why racial demagogues do so well.

That's very true. People like Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley prove your point.

Also true, however, is that the more obviously stupid people are, the more they tend to dislike Dr. Maddow.
I have to give significant weight to that as well.

Here's a question for you.

We know cable new channels are full of bias and lies. We know that truth doesn't sell to the under educated/working class. So why would any educated person watch cable news? An obvious answer is educated people like entertainment just like working class folks. But since educated folk prefer truth why do we still watch?

You don't watch MSNBC (either do I <-- legal disclaimer). So you have no idea what Dr. Maddow says, do you? Yet you believe every butt-nugget that drips from Tucker Carlson's lying lips. You also think some elderly fake teacher in Ohio who lives in a tiny house with a zillion dogs cooks gourmet meals and loves you.

They broke the trust by inserting lies in place of news



They aided the enemies of America by repeating foreign propaganda and lying and saying that was news


No news station should ever be allowed to just lie for money and ratings

We don't watch cable news here. We get our info from various online sources like BBC, CNN, WSJ, etc. We also watch local news, and NBC Nightly News. NBC has a left bias but it is easy to see and to disregard. They are not what a fully-informed person would rely on; hence using other sources.

They went so far over the edge to lies that they panicked because moving toward the truth would lose them their base of viewers. No wonder their ratings were good, they intentionally just affirmed lies to stroke viewers narcissistic egos.
