Can Fox regain any credibility?

the only reason to watch either msnbc or fox is to see what the mouth breathers are thinking

I have friends who are quite smart and I respect that watch both channels so I don't want to make a blanket statement but I agree with you. I admit mixed feelings because on one hand those two channels are the market giving partisans what they want. But for the sake of the country it's almost poisonous.

To rightys, Fox did not lose any credibility, so there is none to get back. The rest of the world never gave Fox any. We knew what they were doing. Murdoch said in court before that he should not be judged as a political channel. They are entertainment and compete with ESPN.
You guys are unable to see what they are.

Do you think MSNBC or CNN are any different? Or is it ok that they are entertainment because they tell you what you like to hear?

Everything we knew about them has now been exposed. They're a campaign arm for the RNC, chose ratings over truth and spent years pushing propaganda for Trump because they were so afraid of him.

As of today, I don't really understand how anyone can trust anything that they hear on that network.

I think they can make it back - but they need new faces. I'm not even sure why some of their personalities are still on the air.

Thoughts?

Uh oh, CNN ratings must have tanked again. The drones were programmed to attack Fox....

Conservatives are using the same defense that they used for Trump. No denial of the lies. Just a defense of, well, everyone lies.

Not like Fox.

My question to you is is MSNBC any different? I don't say that as a deflection or a defense of Fox but when I hear people complain about Fox then never say a word about MSNBC it just comes off as pure partisanship, not principle.

To each his own of course, I just choose not to watch either channel. Doesn't make me better than anyone else it's just a personal choice. So even though I'm on the right politically I feel no need to defend Fox News. And when I see people argue Cable New Channels have helped drive the divide and helped poison discourse in this country I totally agree. But a lot of people can't or won't acknowledge that because it means they (and their side) are contributing to it. It's much more fun and enjoyable to simply blame the 'other side'.

The other networks you mentioned do have a liberal bias. They may rant and rave about people on the right - but unlike Fox and other right wing networks, they don't lie.

Oh, and NBC and CNN did not push huge lies during the Trump years, give me a fucking break. this is more of that don't so as we do, do as we say bullshit LMAO

No, they didn't. Let me give you an example: In another thread one of our members is ranting and raving about the origin of Covid coming from a lab leak. They're claiming, "the libs think it's racist". That's wrong. The theory of the lab leak is playing on MSNBC right now. If the origin was from a lab, then it was from a lab.

Give an example of something MSNBC or CNN has lied about. They have made mistakes. The difference is - if they make one they make a correction. FOX never admitted it lied about the stolen election until Dominion sued them.

Fox doesn't need credibility, their idiot viewers want to believe their bullshit or their Messiah Trump's lies, treason ,whatever, they eat up Fox's bullshit ,and are glad to do it.

Your question assumes that Fox ever had credibility.

I first noticed the station when I came upon O'Reilly. I watched because he seemed to have a lot to say about President Clinton at the time, and frankly Clinton deserved challenging rhetoric. The whole 'fair and balanced' nonsense was silly, but I watched.

Then Bush got elected, and I watched O'Reilly get on his hands and knees for what I couldn't determine was giving Bush a blowjob, or conducting an interview?

I quickly realized that the 'fair and balanced' meant 'in the tank for Republicans.

Fox will never have credibility with intelligent people. Truth doesn't sell among the under educated.

Fox loyalists don't care about truth. They get what they want to hear from the lying heads. I expect the viewership is going to decline some, depending on the verdict. Unfortunately I think there's still too many low-info idiots who will turn it on and keep it afloat.
I don't think the verdict matters much. Anyone who isn't insulted after learning that the station knew everything they pushed was a lie, isn't intelligent enough to change the channel.

The only way they lose viewership is when the t.v. dinner heir along with Hannity, are sued and are forced to step away.

Rachel Maddow talked about Trump constantly over years, was wrong about just about everything, has apologized for none of it.
