General Grant Promoted

We could hang an ex-President who committed treason
Or the current pResident that sold his influence to China.
If true, I'm good with hanging all traitors. Your own thread proves Trump is guilty of treason:
Former federal prosecutor Tim Heaphy, the committee’s chief investigative counsel, said that while he endorses the panel’s main finding that then-President Donald Trump sparked the riot by urging protesters to go to the Capitol...............

Obviously you have no education of Grant in the west! Only his service with the army of the Potomac

Are you a total idiot?

Grant was present at Shiloh, then at the taking of forts Donaldson and Henry in Tennessee. After that he was given command of the Union army in the West and conducted the Vicksburg campaign. He only took command of the Union Army and in the East in 1864.

That is the Western theater of the Civil War, not the subsequent Indian wars post Civil War.

This is why fascist governors like DeSatan want to ban books and the teaching of actual history, not the make-believe-Murica MAGAT shit. They need to cling to the delusion that 21st Century Democrats are exactly the same as southern 18th century Democrats. It's how they justify their continuing racism, bigotry, hate.

Exactly. If conservatives can eliminate history, then they can feel better about reinforcing their fake reality. Every single person who compares 19th century Democrats to modern Democrats is a lost cause.

By indoctrinating kids with the fake version of American history, they believe that they're instilling love for the nation that they falsely believe the rest of us lack. It's also a good way to avoid fixing our various national problems. Anyone who dares to point them out is an unAmerican traitor.

The point I'm making is that information about historical figures is freely available, to say otherwise like TOW is conspiratorial nonsense.

That isn't related to anything I said. I said that modern Democrats are not the same as Civil War era Democrats.

Personally I like Grant but that does not forgive the fact that he was a slave owner for more than two years.. And remember those plantation slave owners were Democrats.

The only people in the 21st century still defending the confederacy are MAGAs and conservative Republicans.

You are grasping at straws if you are begging liberals to hate a guy who voluntarily freed his slave, won the civil war, and implemented the most important civil rights laws of the 19th century.

That "point" wasn't anywhere related to any part of the conversation. Stay in your lane.

Grants memoirs is a fantastic read. You quickly learn why he was such an effective leader. I mean he is so clear and concise in his thinking that it’s nearly impossible to misinterpret what he says.

He had to invent war in America. To fight they had to build railroads through the south to supply food and munitions. The Confederates would rip the tracks up. Grant had them rebuilt. The Grey would rip them up and bend them around trees. Can you imagine dragging cannons up mountains in the Civil War days?

Sherman ripped them up and wrapped around trees
