Democrat Mary Peltola is projected to win the Alaska special general election for the state’s sole House seat, ABC News reports.

Peltola defeated two Republicans -- former Republican Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and Nick Begich -- and will be the first Democrat to represent the state in the House in nearly half a century, succeeding Rep. Don Young, who died in March.

Peltola will also be the first Alaska Native to represent the state in Congress.

Haha, I love it. What happened to the Red wave?

its dripping from your ceiling, cuntselor......you do realize that the winner in this election serves until January when they will be replaced by whoever gets elected in November. This strange special election pitted two Republicans against one demmycrat.......that won't be true in November......

I just posted in the other thread that Peltola wouldn’t have a chance against either Palin or Begich. She’s unknown, just got the first choice votes from democrat voters while Begich and Palin split the Republican voters. Not sure how this will work in November.
That said, Palin has very high negatives here.
This definitely is not over.

People are weary of stupid.

I think it was more about Sarah Palin being a moron than being a Republican. Alaskans elected her governor, then she fucked them pver and abandoned them. Once burned, twice shy.

She's still hot, though.

When Republicans lose in Alaska... It is a bad sign for Republicans.

Maybe Palin can run again, and see how it turns out.

In the first round, you are correct... BUT THEN THERE WAS THE SECOND ROUND USING THE SECOND CHOICES!!! If the Republican voters were split, they would have picked one Republican for the first choice, and the other as a second choice. The fact is they were not split.

This definitely is not over.

The saner Republicans voted for Begich as their first choice, and Peltola as their second choice. When Begich was thrown out of the running, Peltola got all his votes.

If you can get Palin to bow out, then I think the crazy Republicans would be willing to vote for Begich, and Republicans could win in November. If not, the saner Republicans will vote for Peltola again.

Nice try

A nice try maybe from a simple minded Trumper whose reply shows he doesn't understand what happened. Because the third candidate was eliminated the "second choice" votes hr received were distributed as those voters had
requested and the Democrat received more of them than Palin did. Yes, independents and registered Republican voters preferred the Democrat over Palin. That may well "be true in November....."

We experimented with a democrat senator with another Begich. He consistently voted against Alaska’s best interests and was booted out for Dan Sullivan who not only is doing a good job but wasn’t even from Alaska. It would be insane to vote for either Peltola or Palin.

lol.....prove the House will not turn Republican in November......the idiotic claim was that a special election meant something.....remember what you folks said about that special election in that blue Texas congressional district meant?.......

The Begichs are basically the Kennedys of Alaska. There are half a dozen of them who have been in Alaskan politics at one point or another. Most are Democrats, but this one is a Republican.

We do not claim to know the outcome in November. You are the one claiming to know the outcome, but cannot prove it.

That said, it currently looks like it will be the exact same election, with the same candidates, run two months later... So we can expect the same outcome. The only major caveat to that is there will be different turnout, because it will be a November election.

I think most Alaskans are horrified at the thought of Peltola representing them. As repulsive as Palin is, she would at least represent AK’s best interests.
I personally will change my voting to select Palin as my second choice in November.
Peltola is from Bethel, a deep blue, authoritarian Native town on the tundra that exists solely because of federal government money.
However, Palins negatives are so high and so intense there may be a lot of Begich voters that will not bring themselves to make her their second choice.

Its just one feeble excuse for you after another. The republican lost, man up! Women are pissed at the SC decision, and Trump woes sure aren't helping.
