Tesla Model 3 named winner in KBB’s 5-Year Cost to Own Awards 2022. MAGA wets panties

No, I wasn't aware of those comments from the left. I guess we don't read the same media sources. Radical, extreme statements like that I just naturally tune out. Why bother conversing with someone who's that far gone? It doesn't even register with me.

I really don't care about Musk. I admire him as an entrepreneur and the fact that he has Aspergers makes what he's done even more impressive. And the whole SpaceX thing. More amazing shit. How can you NOT be impressed by that? But, lately he's been on a media high it seems and it's not going well. He says some very strange shit but I brush it off on being on the spectrum. He's a businessman, not a celebrity. I did read something about him wanting to buy Tesla because he wanted to reduce carbon emissions. Whether that's true, don't know, don't care. I just know he builds a kick-ass car and he's not just a businessman. He knows a shitload about technology. He's a fucking genius but sometimes geniuses do whacky things.

This has been in the NY Times, the Washington Post, the blue check marks on Twitter etc. You've had a number of liberal posters on this board call him a Nazi, racist, supporter of white supremacy etc. At the core it's about his statement of supporting "absolute free speech". How that would manifest itself if his purchase of Twitter goes through remains to be seen but that statement is what created this tizzy.

I'm with you in thinking he's an amazing entrepreneur. That doesn't mean he needs to be put on a pedestal and is above reproach but you are not wrong in calling the man a genius.

Tesla Model 3 named as one of the winners in KBB’s 5-Year Cost to Own Awards for 2022

The Tesla Model 3 was recently deemed by Kelley Blue Book as one of the winners in its 5-Year Cost to Own Awards for 2022. KBB’s 5-Year Cost to Own Award explores the costs associated with the ownership of a vehicle. This includes the vehicle’s price, maintenance costs, fuel or charging rates, any state tax, and registration fees, as well as a car’s depreciation over a 5-year ownership period, among others.

As per the automotive research company, the 2022 Tesla Model 3 leads the “Electric Luxury Vehicle” segment with a 5-year cost to own of $48,233. According to Kelley Blue Book, the Model 3’s 5-year cost to own is $16,411 less than the segment average. This is quite impressive, especially considering that the Model 3 is Tesla’s entry-level vehicle today.

The fact that the Model 3 was dubbed by KBB as one of the winners in its 2022 5-Year Cost to Own Awards is quite unsurprising, especially if one were to consider that electric vehicles like Teslas do not need as much maintenance as their internal combustion engine-powered counterparts. And being part of Tesla’s ecosystem, the Model 3 enjoys a number of perks that some of its rivals in the “Electric Luxury Vehicle” segment do not enjoy as well, such as Supercharging rates, which are extremely convenient and affordable
To be fair, the link is to a Tesla site.

In it's EV/Hybrid class, the vehicle mentioned is the most expensive to own, although it does stipulate 'luxury'. If you follow the link the Kelley, there's some interesting reading.

So what?

It starts at $47K.

The Chevy Bolt starts at $31.

(plus, the Chevy Spark starts at $13,600. And the Chevy Malibu starts at $23,400 - for comparison)

I love EV's.

But NO ONE in their automotive, right mind is going to buy a Tesla to save money.

It costs less than HALF as much to run a Tesla than it does a gas car. MAGA wets panties.

And you get what you pay for. Teslas cost more for the same reason Acuras, BMWs, Mercedes do.

They're luxury cars. Maybe one day, you will be able to afford one.

I bet my F250 Diesel Truck cost more than your anemic short ranged Tesla. :rofl2: And Joe Crapitalist craps his panties.

You spent that much on a fucking truck and you're bragging about it? I rest my case.

How much much money did you donate to Trump, MAGA moron? I'm guessing thousands. BWAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHA

And where is the link that proves that - paying for the car included - that it costs less to operate a Tesla 3 than an EV Bolt or a Chevrolet Malibu.
After all, you are making cost saving the BIG thing.
Now prove it.

Another, lame ad hominem.

I have owned several, expensive (many were new) cars over the years.

And earlier, you did not even know what the word 'jealous' meant.

You are not too good at this.

How much does it cost to charge a Tesla Model Y?

The Tesla Model Y weighs less than both the Model S and Model X, which is possibly why it’s equipped with a smaller battery. Both the Model Y Long Range and Performance trims come with a 75 kWh battery. The Long Range has an estimated 326-mile range, while the Performance has an estimated 303-mile range.

Since these numbers are different from what we’ve seen on the Model X and Model S vehicles, we should see a big difference in the total cost of a charge, as well as the cost per mile. Here’s what a full charge from 0 to 100% would look like on the Model Y depending on the charging station:

Level 1 and 2 charging: About $12.08
Level 3 charging: $19.50

jealous
adjective
1 he was jealous of his brother's popularity: envious, covetous, desirous; resentful, grudging, begrudging; jaundiced, bitter, malicious, spiteful; green with envy, green, green-eyed; greedy, selfish, acquisitive; formal emulous. ANTONYMS admiring; proud
2 a jealous lover: suspicious, distrustful, mistrustful, doubting, insecure, anxious; apprehensive of rivals, possessive, proprietorial, overprotective, clinging, controlling, dominating. ANTONYMS trusting, understanding
3 they are very jealous of their rights: protective, defensive, vigilant, watchful, heedful, mindful, careful, solicitous, attentive. ANTONYMS careless, unconcerned

A simple Google search would've answered your question and prevented you from looking so clueless. You are not too good at this.

Surrender accepted.

Pretty hard to pull a 5th wheel without one. Sorry you don't have enough money to buy a real man's vehicle . Does your toy car come with a remote control to go with those AAA batteries. And Joe Crapitalist craps his panties.

Sorry for your loss Mr. Wet Panties

So you really believe that Tesla runs and controls exactly what you can and cannot do with their vehicle and that is subject to change on their whim?

Please tell me because I want to verify just how fucking stupid and gullible you are to be willing to believe this utter bullshit.

Mr. Wet Panties, you make it too easy.

Tesla Remotely Expanded Car Batteries Near Irma's Path, And Questions Linger
"The tyranny, Fung and other observers say, comes in the ability to change the terms of what a consumer has bought. When cars are remotely updated like a cellphone or other device — and without a customer's consent — problems can arise."

Can Tesla Disable Your Car From Charging?

Tesla has already taken drastic steps when it comes to salvaged vehicles that were restored. They came out and said that they would be disabling supercharging on salvaged vehicles.

Other than this however, Tesla has not said anything about disabling their vehicles or preventing them from charging. When it comes to EVs, there are kill switches that a lender or dealership can use to disable a vehicle.

However, if you make your payments on time and don’t use a Tesla that’s been salvaged. Then you shouldn’t have to worry about Tesla disabling your EV from charging.

Twitter Wants Elon Musk To Disable Every Tesla In Russia
"Several Twitter users have come out and asked if Musk can remotely deactivate all Tesla products, ranging from the Model 3 to the Model S, in Russia via a kill switch. Considering that all of the brand's cars are connected to the cloud, we do not doubt that he can do this but, other accounts are arguing whether this would be a justifiable decision."
