We all have different things we're interested in/passionate about and we spend more time paying attention to them. Education is one for me and I'm in no way proclaiming myself an expert, or even all that knowledgeable, but I read a lot about it and yes, there are many examples across the country of lowering of standards in the name of equity. Like many/most subjects there is nuance so there are people who will make passionate arguments for why that's a good thing and it's not to say they make no compelling points. But on the whole it's the lowering of standards in a time when we are competing in a global world and it is doing us no favors.
I understand there are charter schools that don't make it. Notice in each post I said they are not a panacea. I say that for a reason because its true. But that doesn't change the benefit of them and on the whole they provide options/opportunities. We can't flick our fingers and overnight our education system will be different. But charter schools play a role in improving our system.
Sounds nice, but you again, and many others here still do not address a key ingredient that makes the few charter schools successful, charter schools can pick and flush students, if public schools could do the same they’d be top rated also, any school would.
