It's funny how the word "replace" seems to have no meaning for you. For instance, the US replaced the Articles of Confederation with the Constitution. What do you think happened to the federal government when they did that? Surely someone who is SmarterthanYou can figure out what happened or do you need it explained by someone that is not SmarterthanYou?

Not quite.....the AR-15 does EXACTLY what it was designed and advertised to do....give the average, non-trained or experienced shooter a rapid fire trigger, less recoil and decent accuracy with a weapon that is comparatively lighter (as well as the lighter, but high powered ammo). It has a versatile set of attachments (i.e., scopes, tripod mount). All this so as to hit the target with greater accuracy....the target being human beings. Remember, the original design was made to be sold to the military. When that failed, the "civilian" version was to eliminate the full auto option and make it semi-auto (as is the case with the vast majority of weapons on the open market). Psychology is just a part of it....practicality and good advertisement is the majority reason.

The AWB 1994 did NOT ban or order confiscation of the vast majority of handguns, rifles and shotguns that are on the open market. Never did. When the GOP successfully kept the law from reinstitution after it's 2004 sunset, AR-15 style weapons were the big seller....and as recent history shows, the weapon of choice for mass shooters....it does EXACTLY as advertised.

To date, no gunner has explained just what they could NOT do when the AWB 1994 was in place. Where couldn't they go? What couldn't they buy or eat or work. What voting right were they denied? Were they less safe with all the other weapons available?

"I want it because I want it" was something I use to say as a child. My parents, school teachers and Sunday church explained to me that just because you want it doesn't necessarily mean you should have it. I would have thought that was a common lesson. The gun lobby and it's flunkies/sycophants prove me wrong.
