Yet they're in a huge hurry to restrict *other* constitutionally-guaranteed freedoms/rights -- the First Amendment (they want to dictate that teachers cannot mention race, racism, LGBTQ folks, etc.). They want to restrict voting, particularly for urban residents and people of color. They want to restrict women's right to choose, another constitutionally-guaranteed right (privacy).
This isn't about freedom at all. It's about control, it's about fear, it's about fascism come wrapped in the flag.
And that is exactly what the average woman thinks when she sees some civilian asshole posing with his bang-bang stick on display. "He's definitely making up for something."
