An AR-15 is not a colonial musket. Our laws should acknowledge that.

I never thought that SmarterthanYou was smarter than an ice cube; asking Moon for documentation proves it.

The two of them need to be having a nice conversation in a rubber room.

But those who wrote the Second Amendment in the 18th century could not have envisioned how their perfectly reasonable intentions would be distorted 235 years later — or how 18-year-olds would be able to buy and carry assault weapons meant for a modern battlefield into grade-school classrooms.

There’s a galaxy of difference between a musket and an AR-15. It’s time to remove these instruments of mass murder from the marketplace once and for all.

This argument is asinine. "A master craftsman doesn't blame his tools..." It's like this here. The instrument of destruction is not the problem. Crazy and mentally ill people are the problem. We need to address the REAL problem here rather than institute more and more bans on freedoms that crush 99% of the population to prevent 1% from doing insanely evil, deadly acts.

Never about guns. They just need Jesus.

There are MANY factors - but it's undeniable that guns are a problem, too.

And it's empirical. We can see in other countries - and even here - that when certain kinds of guns are banned, it helps.

The US is the only country obsessed with guns.

The Ukrainians are very happy expressing their gun rights, along with all of their other unalienable rights, to the Russian Army.

We have a definition of weapons specifically protected by the Second Amendment. Ar-15 rifles are clearly protected weapons, even taking into account the intentions of the Founding Fathers. You're not going to get your gun grab so fuck off and consider moving to Cuba. Or Europe.
