American has nearly 400 million people.

police reacting calmly to a white man legally carrying an assault rifle down the street - but they immediately pull their guns to a black man doing the same thing

So no need for any Amendments after the 10th?
Not a lawyer, but it seems to me that the more both parties chip away at the Constitution the worse things get. Maybe it's because stripping rights is not the right path.
Since that 13% of the population commit 51% of the violent crime...
250+ years ago 18 year olds were most likely married and started a family. And ones in the west lived with the threat of indian or other attacks so accurate rifles intended to kill were vital.
Of course right and wrong were more broadly upheld principles then as opposed to now.
It is wrong to let everyone have weapons. But then, the US loves killing people abroad.
wrong ?
it is wrong to murder whether you use a gun knife or Louisville Slugger.
fix the problem
fix why some no longer see that murder is wrong.
But those who wrote the Second Amendment in the 18th century could not have envisioned how their perfectly reasonable intentions would be distorted 235 years later — or how 18-year-olds would be able to buy and carry assault weapons meant for a modern battlefield into grade-school classrooms.
There’s a galaxy of difference between a musket and an AR-15. It’s time to remove these instruments of mass murder from the marketplace once and for all.

Good luck with that one.![]()
Not the brightest comment.
Brighter than you'll ever comprehend, that's for damn sure.
Let's take a brief look at historical consistency: When this country was in its infancy, what kind of weapons were soldiers weilding? Great, now let's look at the militias: What kind of weapons were THEY weilding? Wrong. They had muskets too.
See, in order to have a "well regulated militia" you have to be effective. Muskets against machine guns is hardly effective.
Understood?

As the amendment was intended for the weapons of the day- let them bear the weapons of the day.

instead of your bullshit opinion, provide historical documentation proving your moronic theory
