when you are employed your employer pays some and you pay some....when you lose your job you have to pay it all, but the premium does not change.....the total cost is the same....
there already is a Government program for people with preexisting conditions who doesn't have insurance...
it's called medicare and medicaid..

there are clinics in your state you can go to that charge on your pay scale...have you checked into that?
If things are that bad for you, I can't see why you wouldn't qualify for medicaid or medical..
Cept your employer gets a tax incentive to pay it, so they come out ahead. For all intents and purposes, it DOES change. What you pay into the system changes big time and it becomes unaffordable for almost everyone.
uhhhhno.....the premium is the same....it was expensive before, it's expensive after....you just don't have anyone helping you pay it anymore....you see this is the problem.....you thought it was free before.....and you want it to be free again.....but instead of your boss paying it for you, you want me to pay it for you.....because you know I can't fire you.....
That doesn't answer my question. If it's not obvious to everyone in this thread yet, this hypothetical uninsured person who a preexisting condition is me. There is no actual choice. Either I pay to buy food, which I will add is scant, or I pay for insurance.
What would you do in my position meme? I'm serious, any help to get out of this situation would be awesome.
I have to save for months to get the $75 to go to a GP to get my prescriptions once a year for . Unfortunately, he constantly refers me to specialists and for blood work that I need done that I simply can't afford.
I also need special treatments once every three months or so that I have to go to the Emergency Room to get, which means that I have to let my health deteriorate to a certain point before they will perform that treatment.

And yet, you have internet access.
We are sure you will be happy to pay for it. Being the caring sharing comapssionate person that you surely are.
Straw man.
Obama isn't proposing a single payer, free system. He's proposing a public insurance OPTION you can buy into like regular insurance but which doesn't suffer from the high overhead of having to pay CEOs millions, pay for advertising, and having to turn a huge profit to make shareholders happy.
Your problem is you can't debate what's actually being debate. If you did that, you'd quickly realize you were fucking retarded to actually oppose what anyone with half a brain realizes is a great idea.
You know where I can get health insurance for $25 a month?
