67 degrees in Alaska? Climate change continues to topple temperature records

Texas sharpshooter fallacy. What do volcanic eruptions--as a mechanism--have to do with Gorebal Warming and the weather? Only a fool would use such an idiotic analogy to explain something unrelated to it and expect their argument to stand.

It functions very well as an analogy for your " single data point " claim. There are many volcanoes which, together, contribute to the reality of molten magma- just as there are many climatic aberrations which , together, contribute to the reality of global warming.
You're not entirely stupid. It's time you changed tack.

There's more than one type of volcano, and more than one type of magma. So what? You produced a single data point. I showed another in the current weather from Arizona. The two on their own are meaningless, and you cannot draw a conclusion about long term weather patterns on the planet from either.

Yet the situation in Alaska is absolutely not that today, correct?

Are you suggesting that last Sunday's phenomenal Alaskan temperatures aren't relevant by Wednesday ?

Haw, haw, haw, haw..........................haw, haw............................haw.

Alaska sets record high December temperature of 19.4C
The island community of Kodiak set the record on Sunday and scientists fear the population will be deluged with rain as climate warms

An unusual winter warm spell in Alaska has brought daytime temperatures soaring past 15.5C (60F) and torrents of rain at a time of year normally associated with bitter cold and snow.

At the island community of Kodiak, the air temperature at a tidal gauge hit 19.4C (67F) degrees on Sunday, the highest December reading ever recorded in Alaska, said scientist Rick Thoman of the Alaska Center for Climate Assessment and Policy. He called it “absurd.”

Exactly. There are always people like Sailor would screech about it being a weather and not a climate.

A climate is an average of weather in an area over a period of time. When you observe weathers changing and moving consistently across different areas, it is clear that the climate is shifting.

Pipe down apartment dweller. Get outside every once in a while.....

As a sailor, you'd know the difference between weather and climate.

I certainly do. And live out in both. Getting a bit, ah, bored of all the worlds apartment and cubicle dwellers reading tweets and shit and thinking they are experts on both. Seriously, put down the twinkies and electronics and go outside.

I simply referred to one data point to illustrate the absurdity of your argument. Let's try another;
A fool would think that an incoming giant asteroid was not proof of the threat of other giant asteroids. Volcanoes, asteroids, ' single data points ' that contribute to the overall data.

I've always been outside. Even hiked and camped. Been on road trips. Whatcha talking about?

Everyday? Good weather, bad weather? What has been your personal experience with climate change.

Also food is my fuel. I do my duty to help the environment. Though I hope my fierce farts don't affect the climate too much.

Well I can tell you that the past few years it has been unusually and consistently warm here during winter time. It's pretty odd.

That would be if it had never, ever happened before historically. Have you noticed any less trees? Wildlife? Flora, Fauna?

On Sunday, the temperature in Kodiak, Alaska, hit 67 degrees Fahrenheit, setting a December record-high
So? Records get broken from time to time. My area of WI saw a record breaking temperature of 68 degrees Fahrenheit a couple weeks ago. The prior high on that date was 52 degrees Fahrenheit (a 16 degree difference). Meh. It happens from time to time.

for a state that has become used to them as climate change continues to rewrite history.
Climate change is a meaningless buzzword, not a person. It is incapable of writing (or re-writing) history.

The temperature readings in Kodiak did not merely edge out some previous record by a degree or two; the 65 degrees reported at the airport was 20 degrees higher than the previous high temperature record of 45 degrees set on Dec. 26, 1984, the National Weather Service reported.
So?? As I noted above, my area of Wisconsin just recently experienced this sort of record shattering high temperature for a day. It happens from time to time. Meh.

According to the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration, Alaska is warming faster than any other U.S. state and twice as quickly as the global average since the middle of the 20th century.
Made up bullshit. It is not possible to measure the temperature of Alaska to any usable accuracy, let alone the Earth.

hard to believe Trumpists keep denying the obvious, heads firmly planted up their asses, clueless to the end
I cannot deny that which has not been defined. Define 'climate change'.
