67 degrees in Alaska? Climate change continues to topple temperature records

On Sunday, the temperature in Kodiak, Alaska, hit 67 degrees Fahrenheit, setting a December record-high for a state that has become used to them as climate change continues to rewrite history.

The temperature readings in Kodiak did not merely edge out some previous record by a degree or two; the 65 degrees reported at the airport was 20 degrees higher than the previous high temperature record of 45 degrees set on Dec. 26, 1984, the National Weather Service reported.

According to the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration, Alaska is warming faster than any other U.S. state and twice as quickly as the global average since the middle of the 20th century.

It snows in Hawaii and in the desert also. Always has. STFU idiot.

Fox lied you to war in Iraq

Fox told you the economy was fine right up to the day it crashed in 2008

Fox told you GW isn’t real even though all of science confirmed it

You have one station of so called news

And you don’t mind that they always turn up to be completely wrong

Good that you know the difference between weather and climate.

Exactly. There are always people like Sailor would screech about it being a weather and not a climate.

A climate is an average of weather in an area over a period of time. When you observe weathers changing and moving consistently across different areas, it is clear that the climate is shifting.

So on average the weather is slightly warmer ?
Because overall the places I’ve lived there has been no change in climate.
New Orleans - humid subtropical
Alamogordo, NM - high desert
Ketchikan, AK - temperate rainforest
Anchorage, AK - subarctic The weather on any given day and indeed for entire seasons can be very unpredictable.
Kitzingen Germany - Continental, with warm, dry summers and cold winters.

It’s been that way for several centuries.. Where has the climate changed to the point where an area has been reclassified in the last , say 200 years?

So on average the weather is slightly warmer ?

Correct. And it's causing more and more adverse weather.

Because overall the places I’ve lived there has been no change in climate.

Are you a human weather radar?

50 years is not several centuries.

What caused it to warm up and melt away the Ice Age? u stupid Commie Bastard

Climate change is EXACTLY like COVID.

It has become more & more clear that humanity needs to act, and act soon, to stave off a real crisis. But for the right, it has become purely political. The idea of climate change is a punchline for most conservatives.

It's a shame. Even if you don't buy into AGW, our current way of life - factoring in population growth - is completely unsustainable. That's not even marginally disputable.
