Evangelicals fume as GOP surrenders in gay marriage wars

parents are forcing them... it should not be the child's decision... way too young

You really need to get your head out of your Newsmax ass and live in reality. That's a lie. You know it is a lie. You are just trolling because you're a bimbo with nothing better to do. The topic isn't trans anyways. lol

lgbtq will be back in the closet soon enough

Oh, is the Taliban coming?

The commercial industry was the first segment to implement LGBTQ outreach. Typically well educated people with good paying jobs and few or no children. When the cruise lines and luxury car dealers and clothing labels discovered that people with a lot of disposable income are good customers, they started specifically advertising to the community. Republicans are notoriously stupid and painfully slow to discard their discrimination, but they followed the money, like they always do. They want donations but still call us faggots behind our backs (and sometimes even to our faces). LGBTQ people should not support anything about the current Republican party. It makes as much sense to be an LGBTQ Republican as it does to be a Black Republican.

Back in the day when I was single I went to a couple of San Francisco Republican Party meetings. I went because I'm a political junkie but my true intent was to hope to meet a single (Republican) girl. Turned out the majority of the people that showed up were gay men. Caught me by surprise. My Aunt is gay and her partner of 25 years was a Republican. I remember talking to her about it, she didn't agree with the party on their policy towards gay people but that wasn't the end all be all behind her vote. I'd venture to guess many black Republicans feel the same way. I'll only speak for myself here but there has never been a candidate I've voted for that I agreed with 100%, or even came close to that. So I vote for people who I have disagreements with. I imagine others do as well.

No, he's not in the least. He's loud n proud. :)

I haven't been in the closet since 2003. I can't remember the last time someone looked at me sideways for that reason in the states. Depending on where I am, I sometimes get a lot of questions, but they're from a place of curiosity and a desire to understand rather than repulsion or disbelief. In fact, the only place I ever encounter homophobia on a regular basis is JPP.

I do, too, but I don't vote for anyone who "disagrees" that I have a right to live a free life and love anyone I want. Homophobia and racism are the first things that disqualify a candidate for me. If they exhibit either, Do Not Pass Go.

Why is it the government's business with whom I may be associating? I'm pretty sure that the US foundational charter speaks directly to the issue. It's a no brainer.

If you aren't sitting on my lap, my sexuality is none of your business, Christians and GOP. If you aren't in her womb, its none of your business.
Read the constitution. Study negative and positive liberty. Educate yourselves for fucks sake. :palm:

The first thought that comes to mind is candidate Obama in ‘08 who said marriage should only be between a man and a woman. Did that prevent you from voting for him or did you think he was saying it because he felt he needed to to get elected but didn’t actually believe it and thus could be given a pass?

When I started on this forum this was one of the most prominent and high-profile debate topics; liberals holding that same-sex marriage should be legal, conservatives largely claiming that it was immoral or would portend the doom of traditional marriages.

They're too busy overthrowing the government to worry about gays. ;)

Well, that's true. That was his position; and I did vote for him. Twice. I just never thought he would actively oppose same sex marriage. He never really did.

If the voters want to strictly vote for candidates that is 100% in agreement with them, we wouldn't have anybody in the government. LOL.

The RW base is steadily shrinking. They desperately need to expand.

No question, which is why I brought it up in my previous post. He said he wouldn’t vote for anyone who he felt was homophobic or racist. I was curious if he felt Obama running on a platform that said marriage should only be between a man and a woman was homophobic. He answered. All good.

True but to be fair he did say that he never thought he would be actively be against SSM. And that he never did anyway.

CONservative repukes and their evangelical heathen are probably the worse hypocrites on Earth, many of whom are closet and pervert cases, in particular, running states that make marrying children legal i.e. under 18. Real sickos.
