My sister and her family aren't feeling all that safe nowadays with fearmongers telling them they are under attack, then this. Nothing has happened to her or her family (I asked, she's my sister), just vague stress from the news telling her that Asians are being attacked, then this happening too.

Saying "well, it's going to happen anyway so we shouldn't do anything about it" is waving the white flag of surrender and sending the message that you're either too scared or not bright enough to come up with reasonable solutions.
No one is going to be able to kill hundreds of people in a matter of seconds, like the Vegas shooter, with any other means.
They can try bombs, but those aren't already really effective, and the ones who did use bombs were promptly caught, arrested, and prosecuted.
How many people die every year from bombs vs. how many die from guns?

In fact, there are two strip clubs literally 100 yards away from where those spas are.

He chose to attack the spas because of Trump and Christianity's insistence of tying COVID to anyone of Asian descent.

Let's talk about WHY you mistakenly and arrogantly tried to draw a comparison between gun violence, and an inherited genetic disorder that you thought wasn't.
Let's talk about how you came to make that argument, because I want to understand the level of contempt you have for honest debate.
But you JUST SAID that people are the problem.
So it would appear the excuse you have for gun violence runs in direct contradiction to your argument that people should be allowed to have guns.
You JUST SAID that people are the ones responsible for the gun violence.
So why do you want to proliferate gun violence by giving the ones responsible for that violence guns?
First: I wasn't completely wrong. Not all obesity is genetic, that's stupid. Some folks are addicted to food, others are eating due to trauma, etc. I simply used that inanity (the spoon) as an example where an inanimate object was in place of the gun in the idiotic statement you tried to pretend made sense. Guns are not the cause of the actions of any person. They are just a tool.
Also, I will never pretend that you are ever honest in any debate. Just wordy and disingenuous.

You seem to want to blame people for gun violence, which is fine, but what's not fine is that you want to give people who commit gun violence, guns.
You say people are the cause of gun violence, then you say "let's give people guns".

Where this leads is to mandatory, annual or semi-annual mental health evaluations.
So if you want to argue that mental health is the cause of gun violence, then the only way to combat that is to force every single gun owner to submit to a mental health examination. And they need to submit to that every year at least because mental illness can crop up at any time. So then it comes down to the doctor making the call as to whether or not you're allowed to own a gun. Now, I can suspect that isn't something you would support.
So once again, we have a situation where you cause something to be a problem, then refuse to do anything to solve that problem, instead complaining about it and crying crocodile tears.
So if you want to blame mental illness for mass shootings, then you have to support recurring, mandatory psych evals for every single gun owner in the US.
But if you're blaming mental illness for mass shootings, then someone is going to have their "fundamental right" taken away because they can't pass a psych evaluation, which would be the only method by which we could determine who is mentally ill enough not to own a gun.
So by arguing this, you're actually arguing for MORE gun control by forcing every gun owner to submit to a mental health evaluation in order to prevent gun violence.
Are you prepared to support that???? I doubt it because you know that many people won't pass the psych eval and many people will lose this "fundamental right" because of you.
That is flat incorrect. Hitler was duly elected by Parliament, and that Parliament was elected by voters who cast votes. Votes can be very dangerous, and harmful to society, jobs, livelihood. When Venezuela was taken over by a totalitarian regime through the election process, it was votes cast that caused that and the actions of the government to follow caused many deaths.
Anyway, you keep arguing that a right should be taken away, and if it isn't we should make laws infringing it "this way" that you think is beneficial. To do that you must first change the 2nd Amendment which tells me that the right of the people (means the same thing every time it is used in the constitution) to own and bear arms shall not be infringed. If you do not believe that you will be able to get that done, then this conversation is moot.
