Try actually thinking things through instead of grasping at any and all BS excuses for wanting to screw with liberty in order to "feel safe"There really is no reason for that kind of hostility in a debate like this.
As for the contention that registration is useless in crime solving at the moment...could that possibly be because most states don't require registration currently?
The areas with the highest crimes rates are also the areas with the tightest gun control laws, INCLUDING registration and licensing. Yet all that has done NOTHING to curb crime, nor to actually assist law enforcement in solving crime. Those few cases where a registered firearms is used by the registrant can be and are solved without the need of a registration tie in, as is proven by law enforcement's ability to solve such crimes in areas without registration.
Try looking at law enforcement statistics nation wide. On a percentage-of-crime basis areas without registration have at least as good over-all record of solving firearms crimes as those areas with registration, in some cases a better record (probably due to low population density allowing the police to know individuals better than in high density areas). The obvious conclusion if one actually looks at the data instead of listening to those with a vested interest in maximizing their authority, is registration does not have a significant impact as a tool for law enforcement.
