losing dem majority in 2010

There really is no reason for that kind of hostility in a debate like this.

As for the contention that registration is useless in crime solving at the moment...could that possibly be because most states don't require registration currently?
Try actually thinking things through instead of grasping at any and all BS excuses for wanting to screw with liberty in order to "feel safe"

The areas with the highest crimes rates are also the areas with the tightest gun control laws, INCLUDING registration and licensing. Yet all that has done NOTHING to curb crime, nor to actually assist law enforcement in solving crime. Those few cases where a registered firearms is used by the registrant can be and are solved without the need of a registration tie in, as is proven by law enforcement's ability to solve such crimes in areas without registration.

Try looking at law enforcement statistics nation wide. On a percentage-of-crime basis areas without registration have at least as good over-all record of solving firearms crimes as those areas with registration, in some cases a better record (probably due to low population density allowing the police to know individuals better than in high density areas). The obvious conclusion if one actually looks at the data instead of listening to those with a vested interest in maximizing their authority, is registration does not have a significant impact as a tool for law enforcement.

The place in the US during the 90's that experience the greatest decrease in crime - New York, New York. YOU just like TO make up STATISTICS and SPEW them without REALLY knowing WHAT you are TALKING about.

So you do AS GOOD in a much easier environment. Gotcha.

the states that do require registration of weapons have not recognized a worthy enough benefit to law enforcement.

It's a myth that more gun control = more gun violence. That's Danologic. There are other factors at work in areas of high gun violence, and no causation you can demonstrate.

Second, I'm not the one throwing out made up stats like "registration is useless in 99% of crimes."

Frankly, I still do not see the big deal about registration. I'm not going to fight tooth & nail for it, but it just seems like a reasonable measure to me. Again, I own a car, and I vote, and I have to register for both - I don't consider either action infringed upon by registration.

Also (again), I support the 2nd amendment. I reject the liberal stereotypes that you keep throwing out; I don't "shiver" at the mere sight of firearms. I've used 'em, and been fine with other people using 'em.

There is a paranoia about the some gun control measures that reminds of some people I know who support abortion rights; there can be reasonable restrictions on abortion that most Americans agree to, but some activists still fight for abortion on demand, for any reason, at any time during the pregnancy.

The simple fact is that most Americans support reasonable restrictions on abortion, and reasonable gun control measures.

Fuck "most people". The tyranny of "most people" is exactly why the founders set up a republic instead of a democracy. The tyranny of "most people" is why they wrote the B.O.R.

As for your supposed lack of fear of firearms, you stated more than once you fear (maybe you did not use that word, but it is what you meant) citizens having access to full-auto rifles. I still find it sad, pitiful actually, that someone actually trusts government more than their fellow citizens. It is an outright pathetic attitude to have.

You don't see a "problem with registration" because first you have been brain washed into thinking it will somehow make you "safer" and also you refuse to acknowledge the facts behind it.

1) The 2nd Amendment is important to the continued liberties in our nation. While I do not think the current administration poses a significant threat of confiscation or becoming like Hitler, history shows that such trust cannot be indefinitely extended. There are some moves that cannot be taken back later, and in fact only allow some future despot to take advantage of it, so you KNOW he isn't going to take it back. Firearms registration is one of those moves.

2) The historical fact that every single time registration has resulted in some type of firearms confiscation INCLUDING OUR OWN NATION (ie: California)! If one can look at historical precedent and see a pattern of the same consequence resulting from the same actions, then it is NOT "paranoia" to expect that pattern to repeat itself when some brain dead history-illiterate morons want to repeat the actions in order to feel "safer".

3) I'll bet you haven't bothered to look at crime statistics to compare the percentage of firearms crimes solved in areas with registration to those without registration, have you? Quit being a lazy ass and go look them up. Use your own sources, as I am tired of ending up arguing over source bias.

No it seems to be fine in Canada.

You are incorrect. A high percentage of firearms in Canada are not registered (especially in western Canada), and the registry has been so ineffective at preventing crime that the Harper government has considered scrapping it altogether. I have several friends who own unregistered weapons.

And the program has cost a great deal more than projected.

Look at Phoenix for an example. No registration or gun control. Shit you can walk down the street with a holster. 4th largest city in the US and not much murders. Especially when compared to gun control cities like Detroit and DC.

You fucking uneducated college hating gun loving racist are bilnd to the facts. France and England have many times lower murders and guns. You racist biggots pick black cities where you institutionally ass raped the black man for your argument is becoming of your public high school education.

You might want to read up on what happened in Australia, when they were told the same thing

I hope you get help, for your bigotry and racist's ideas.

Compare Phoenix to Juarez Mx. where guns are illegal to own by the common citizen. Almost 2000 murders last year, people unable to defend themselves from the criminal gangs that own guns illegally.

I happen to be 1/2 Native American and 1/4 Black you ignorant raving twit.

If you do not like comparing Phoenix to Detroit, how about comparing it to NYC? Gonna claim NYC is a "Black" city too?

FYI, England and France also have far lower per-capita incidence of violent crime NOT involving firearms. As in ALL violent crime is the U.S. is off the top end of reasonable - a fact you panty-waste gun haters ignore all the time when talking about your pet totalitarian agenda. Funny how you don't know fucking SQUAT about valid statistical analysis for comparison, yet call 2nd Amendment advocates "uneducated". Try learning something REAL for a change instead of the same old tiring lies, platitudes and rhetoric defending your fascist bull shit.

It's so weird that it's always the most conservative individuals on this board who claim to be half something and a quarter something else. Dixie once claimed that he is 1/8 Native American and some percentage something else, and his relatives who were black and Native American fought for the confederacy. This reveals something, I think, and that is either he is as retarded as his relatives or he's fabricating his heritage whole cloth in order to make himself sound more legitimate when he makes statements against minorities.
