Who will win the Democratic civil war?

Do Republicans claim "Hi, I'm a Jesus Freak, Vote for me!". No. They've learned something over the years.

Black Americans are even more Christian than Whites. What are you trying to say?

I was being generous and giving you something you could be nostalgic about.
nope. not even close. Putin isn't a Bolshevik either..
he's just a nationalist eager to work with the west while we put him in a box and deliver him to Xi

That is, of course, the giant lie the Liberals have used to divide this coronary since Obama won the Iowa primary. :dunno:

You voted for a White Segregationist that called Black schools "racial jungles", and was shocked and amazed that a "clean" and "articulate" negro existed.

You voted for an Adulterer that sodomized Porn Stars. (Why don't you change you name from 'BigDog' to ... 'BigPig'?)

Hello Dutch Uncle,

The Republican party waged a civil war on itself, the battle for the soul of the GOP beginning in the mid-90s. The result was the Party of Trump.

Now the Democratic party is in the beginning stages of a civil war of its own. Like inside the GOP, it's a battle between moderates and extremists. The extremists won in the Republican civil war. Who will win the Democratic civil war?

During a three hour Democratic caucus call Rep. Spanberger said “We need to not ever use the word ‘socialist’ or ‘socialism’ ever again. . . . We lost good members because of that.....If we are classifying Tuesday as a success . . . we will get fucking torn apart in 2022.

I agree with Spanberger.

An angry dispute erupted among House Democrats on Thursday, with centrist members blasting their liberal colleagues during a private conference call for pushing far-left views that cost the party seats in Tuesday’s election that they had worked hard to win two years ago.

Follow the latest on Election 2020
The bitter exchange, which lasted more than three hours as members sniped back and forth over tactics and ideology, reflected the extent to which the 2020 campaign exposed simmering tensions in the party even as its presidential nominee, Joe Biden, stands on the brink of achieving their biggest goal of the year — ousting President Trump.

Party leaders had expressed certainty that Trump’s divisiveness and mishandling of the pandemic would help them expand their majority with wins in GOP-held districts — and yet they lost at least a half-dozen seats and failed to retake the Senate. The explanation laid out by centrists, according to multiple people who were on the call and spoke on the condition of anonymity, is that Republicans were easily able to paint them all as socialists and radical leftists who endorse far-left positions such as defunding the police.
...

Well they are all correct in the points they are making; and it is the stuff of politics to work out the way forward. I don't think either side will 'win.'

It is understandable that centrists in mixed areas are trying to avoid triggering the right.

But it also cannot be denied that Americans want our government to do more to help people.

Bernie has advanced the conversation greatly. It used to be that the word 'socialism' was a no-no. As far as the right is concerned it still is. But the rest of the country is changing, thanks to Bernie. He is bringing the word 'socialism' into the main accepted lexicon. That is not going to stop. Despite Spanberger's concerns, man Americans want the government to do more to help people. They see wealth inequality growing more extreme. Sure, lots of people are doing better, but lots of people are being left behind. Growing extreme wealth inequality is not good for America. That's not promoting the general welfare. People want the government to promote the general welfare like is says in the Constitution.

Sure, this politics is messy. It may cost Spanberger her job in 2022. That may be a price that has to be paid. We cannot go backward like the right wants us to do. That is not going to work.

The left needs to do a better job of communicating the rationale for what it wants to do.

The media needs to do a better job of resisting the shock journalism easy profits of scaring people on the right with false fears.

If all this was easy it would have been done long ago.

Facing up to it is our challenge.

We need better education.

We're not talking about Bill Clinton. :palm:

Or Stormy D's and Avenatti's conspiracy theories. :palm:

Agreed. In fact, more Democrats are religious than Republicans: 44% to 37%. This fits because greed, selfishness, lying and failing to love one's neighbor are all sins.

Yet the Democrats in mass called for these things, 'Defund the Police', 'Socialist', 'Open Borders."

They even ran a Socialist for president and had he won the primaries, the Democrats would have voted for him to be president of these United States.

But he didn't. And was never going to. And no, Democrats do not call for these things EN masse. Defund the police doesn't even mean what it says. It was a stupid meme that cost Democrats dearly.

Dems want to nationalize the medical industry and the fossil fuel industry. And create a massive welfare State that will rival Hitler's national socialism.

Republicans want to build Crematoriums for Muslims and other Undesirables.

Lots of people are frightened of words that they don't understand.

Yep they are, and someone who is running for office would be wise to understand that. Articulate a position. That POSITION may well be viewed by some as socialism, but for God's sake, don't call it that. Too many voters won't hear another word of what you said.

Yet, you despise Jesus, believe you are Mother Teresa, and want to kill Black babies while they are still in the womb.

Many Democrats did call for those things. Whether or not it was a majority remains to be seen....probably by the next Presidential election. Maybe even by the midterms.

Dude, that's like saying "if Richard Spencer ran for President, the Republicans would have voted for him to be president of these United States". No, they wouldn't have.

The fact remains Bernie would probably have been the nominee if Hillary hadn't corrupted the Democratic Party and Trump would still have won. There's a reason why the Democrats haven't nominated him since. That's not to say they couldn't keep going as far Left as the Republicans are far Right. Time will tell.
