Again, I am also opposed to torture! I don't consider coercive interrogation to be "torture" though, that is the distinction here. I think, when you have hardened alQaeda operatives, who have taken a vow to their Gods to kill us all, it takes a little more than being nice to them, to obtain useful intelligence about their operations. Call me crazy, but I don't think promises of milk and cookies will work. BUT... it's not up to me, or my party! The whole entire thing is YOUR responsibility now! That's why I don't understand this long assed "debate" on the subject, we obviously disagree, and we will certainly get to see how well your methods work. I know how well my methods work, we haven't been attacked since 9/11, and we have captured or killed countless terrorist, thwarting numerous terrorist attacks.
I just somehow believe, when we see the streets of New York, LA or Chicago, piled high with dead pinheads who were killed by terrorists... maybe your ideas of what IS and ISN'T "torture" will change? LMAO... we already lost! Liberals WON, so that means America LOST! We're just waiting for the ramifications of that now... it's a matter of time. The removal of 550 metric tons of "yellowcake" - the seed material for higher-grade nuclear enrichment - was a significant step toward closing the books on Saddam's nuclear legacy. It also brought relief to U.S. and Iraqi authorities who had worried the cache would reach insurgents or smugglers crossing to Iran to aid its nuclear ambitions.
What is now left is the final and complicated push to clean up the remaining radioactive debris at the former Tuwaitha nuclear complex about 12 miles (19 kilometers) south of Baghdad - using teams that include Iraqi experts recently trained in the Chernobyl fallout zone in Ukraine.
"Everyone is very happy to have this safely out of Iraq," said a senior U.S. official who outlined the nearly three-month operation to The Associated Press.
