It's partisanship bias.
Yes, studies can be found that indicate masks are ineffective at protecting the wearer from the airborne virus. But here is the tricky part. Those studies all talk about protecting the wearer. They don't get into the effectiveness of preventing the spread by people who have no symptoms and do not know they are contagious. They don't estimate the effectiveness of social mask policy. They focus on the protection to the wearer.
And remember what Dr Anthony Fauci said. Wearing masks is not about protecting yourself. It is about protecting others.
We are all dependent on one another in this war to protect each other.
And since we are so divided and NOT united on this concept, that is why we are doing so badly at it.
We just fail to grasp the basics of it as a society.
There is too much propaganda and hatred for such widespread understanding to take place.

Not sure what caused masks to miraculously start working against viruses but published medical studies pre hysteria concluded otherwise.

N95-masked health-care workers (HCW) were significantly more likely to experience headaches. Face mask use in HCW was not demonstrated to provide benefit in terms of cold symptoms or getting colds.

That's why we have to have a social mask-wearing policy. We don't have enough tests to do everybody. And the results take too long. Now, if the test could be something simple and instant such as point a device like an infrared thermometer at everyone who enters every building, and instantly be able to read if they are positive / asymptomatic, then we could easily keep the positives out of social gatherings and masks would not be needed.
But we don't have that, so they are.

Are you as sure that masks do not work as you are sure that viral pneumonia does not exist?
Is that the way you also propose figuring out who has HIV?

Yes. Masks do not stop/prevent the spread of viruses. Pneumonia is a bacteriological infection.

Another one, they find some contraian individual who offers "alternate facts" and they run with as if it outbalances the predominance of evidence showing the opposite, no thanks, as I said, using the Internet it is easy to create a false paradigm on anything, I'll stick with the medical professions, many who even work for Trump and strongly recommend masks and distancing
Point being Trump is the leader of the country and he purposely is sending an opposing message, and what makes it a shame, he is doing if for his own political gain
