Texas faced similar problems as Venezuela did because Texas relies so heavily on fossil fuel revenues in lieu of taxation:

So it's weird that you would be so in love with the ex-KGB agent who currently runs Russia as a fascist oligopoly.
Russia is exactly what you want here; an oligarchical autocracy.
That's what you want here.
It's not socialism that led to the chaos in Venezuela, it's capitalism (as it always is).
Venezuela's economy is reliant on fossil-fuel production. So when the price of oil is high, Venezuela enjoys a wave of revenues based off the global price per barrel of oil. But when the price of oil declines, the revenues based off that decline as well thus creating budget crunches. The same thing happened in Texas and Oklahoma back in 2016, when the price per barrel of oil dropped significantly.
Now, Conservatives have taken to say if Venezuela merely used the revenues to further develop and expand oil production, they wouldn't face the problems they face today. But that is completely wrong because if Venezuela did that and increased production and expansion, that would only result in a further decline in the price per barrel because it would be increasing the supply of oil. So Venezuela can't merely drill their way out of the mess because doing so only further devalues the price of oil as they increase the supply.
So as you see, this isn't a failure of socialism. It actually has nothing to do with socialism and everything to do with the global, capitalist cartels who set the price of oil and control the supply that fluctuates the price.
so your assertion is that because of Venezuelas current state, socialism is the way to go?
do you even read what you write
Yeah, I’ll never forget when oil prices plunged and Texas went commie.
called ol’ vlad and said “come on down and let’s talk Russian air force bases! We’ll do shots of vodka and chase ‘em with cold Lone Stars! An’ you can ride genuine Texas broncos without a shirt on!”
Well, you guys called over to Vlad in 2016 to lend his troll army for your support, so I'm not sure what you're trying to do here but it's not helping your case.
So maybe going “super capitalistic” might have been a better option? This is one of the biggest problems with socialism. You turn over the means of production to the proletariat, run the bourgeoisie out of town on a rail, and you’re left with a bunch of happy, empowered nitwits who can’t find their asses with both hands and a flashlight. Industry NEEDS capital, like it or not, and these guys can’t capitalize lunch
Oh for pete’s sake! You said it yourself! Who did maduro ally himself with!???? What? So in response to the drop of oil prices, you think Venezuela should have their allies send military vessels and planes to the country? How does that address the problem of declining revenues due to a declining price per barrel?
All you are really talking about is where they chose to put their huge oil profits. They spent lots of it on the people and schools. However, when the oil price was killed, the profits were slashed and the promised programs were no longer reachable. They were selling oil across the globe. They were capitalistic about making money, just socialistic about where the profits were spent.
He went to Moscow, idiot! That’s the best place to go for advice when your oil revenues are declining, right?
Exactly! So how can you blame capitalism for how a socialist government spends it’s money? This is a somber lesson for “democratic socialists” in this country tooAll you are really talking about is where they chose to put their huge oil profits. They spent lots of it on the people and schools. However, when the oil price was killed, the profits were slashed and the promised programs were no longer reachable. So he goes to Putin? The guy who you clowns think is pulling Trump’s strings, and who you think is screwing up the American economy?Well, he's not going to go to Trump and the GOP, who can't even manage our economy.
I think they should sell as much as they canDon't understand what you think should have happened differently. Do you think Venezuela should not have sold any oil on the global markets?
No, they should not have spent it all on the “people”, except to teach them how to make their own moneyDo you think they should not have spent the revenues from those sales on the people? If not, then what should they have spent the money on?
Who are you to tell me my perspective isn’t valid? Are you a socialist? Because that’s what socialists do. They like to tell people what to thinkYou don't really have a valid perspective here, since it seems like you don't even understand what this is all about
Exactly! So how can you blame capitalism for how a socialist government spends it’s money?

Phtttttttt!Someone who understands the problem at hand.
It’s not that difficult(except for you)You don't understand it, nor do you have any desire to understand it.
Damn it took a long time to drag that out of your dumb ass! Do you remember how the governor responded to that little crisis? Do you remember him deploying the national guard with live ammunition and fixed bayonets? Do you remember the empty store shelves and the people eating out of garbage cans? Do you remember how the average Texan lost 25 pounds in a few months? The daily demonstrations and riots? Guess what, I don’t remember it either because it didn’t happen in Texas, but it sure as hell happened in Venezuela! And that’s what happens when socialists run out of money! You just want to screech about socialism, but virtually the same thing (a massive decline in revenues) happened in Texas, who had to cut services because of the decline of oil revenues in 2016 that sent the economy into a recession.
